The cage & rear end, gearbox etc are all one structure. The car is no longer structural. The cage is the chassis.

I'm spending what free time I can up there but its near on impossible nights as I just dont get home from work in time and cant work up there past 9pm cos of the neighbours. Weekends its trying to fit everything in! Just waiting on Mark to sort me some info out then I can find out how much the rear section is gonna cost me to get the tubing bent & supplied! :eek:Quote:

I know how you feel mind with the "not enough hours in the day" senario
have a good few bank holidays coming tho so that should help things.
I thought this had been scrapped ;)
So a few pics of what I've been up to (mainly fluffing about practising my welding!). lol
The drivers front base plate is all welded in. I made some small plates up to fill the gaps to the sill then blasted over the lot to make it look tidy...

I then set about tidying the front of the sill where it had been chopped off. So this is how it was...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...19-04-1110.jpg
Trim that back to shape...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../19-04-116.jpg
Bit of CAD and make a plate and tack it in...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../19-04-115.jpg
Blast round it...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../19-04-114.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../19-04-113.jpg
Smooth it all back...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../19-04-112.jpg
Then the next plate in place...

Just need to put the little fillet piece in next.
I'd also previously tidied up the area above along the seem. Its hard to see, but when you grind it back there is 3 parts to the skin and they need tieing back in.
Passenger side, unwelded...

Drivers, welded...

Some might wonder why I'm farting around doing this but it will all hopefully come clear soon! In hindsight I wouldn't have use the base plates that came with the cage and use some normal square bent plate but oh well, I'll know next time!
