Coolant and Oil heat up at different rates.

Oil will get much hotter when your actually driving it though the higher revs etc
Oh and im pretty sure the sandwich plate only goes on in one position???
Mine would only seem to sit in one place anyway and not rotate
Yeah but you get what i mean, its been warn enough and surely the oil gets hotter faster.. From the look of it the sandwich plate will fit anyway around...
Dude when you come down friday take a looky at mine fella, for reference if its any help.
Coming on well Benn, all these small problems are sent here to test you but it will be fine in the end no matter how much you want to smash it now lol It will be well worth it once its complete as it looks the dogs already :thumb: :thumb:
Will do dude, cheers :)Quote:

Benn - I struggle to get my LET to run oil temps over 95 degrees. When i used to really hammer it for say 20 mins (on the road) it would just hit 95 and thats with a calibrated oil temp sensor. I never ran an oil cooler but was planning on doing it this time. Is there no way to by pass the thermostat and have it open all the time? I was going to get a sandwich plate from TX autosport, they have holes for 2x sensors and 2 x oil feeds. Not sure if they have a thermostat on them.
You know my thoughts on the cooler mate. You've got plenty of time to sort something out, maybe a Mocal remote stat, before your next Coombe outing.
Something like this setup -
An take off plate in place of the current sandwich plate and oil filter (they come in 2 types) - http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/index.php?cPath=340_527
The run your lines to a remote filter housing and obviously a stat & cooler
eg.
Remote filter plate:

Oil stats:

Give Rally Design a buzz as they'll know the best way to do it. May be better to run the take off to the remote filter housing then use a sandwich plate there rathr than the external stat.
