Dude, wire wheel on your grinder. SO much quicker and effective!
Looking good :)
Thats what i've been using today, the arch is mostly done now. Will start the other side tomoz.
Yeah i allways check the strengh of the bolts when i replace them.Quote:

Spent the last two nights in the wheels arches stripping off all the paint and under seal, to re seal and then paint them properly. Which is eating up alot of time, but i killed the wire bush so that out of the window for the mo.
So i've refitted the std shochs and bits so shes a roller again, and welded over the old wiring loom hole and made a new one. And make the holes a bit better for where they enter the bulk head.
Where the old hole was. Could be seen in the bay.

Also cleaned up and enlarged the hole for the water pipe so this can have a proper gromit in it. You can see the new hole for where the wiring will enter the bay too, right up under the slam pannel.

Game its a skim of fiberglass.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...smoothing6.jpg
Now for bed...lol
Good progress.
Going back - I plan to redo it all due to the underseal has started to come away.
Right the bays all finished now that this is done. The wiring comes in above the headlight, the feed wires drop down to it now, insted of around it where it could be seen..

Sadly been doing the very boring tack of cleaning all the wheel arches up for paint.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../Archprep7.jpg
But here they are all clean, sadly hiding under the inch deep seam sealer i found the corner of the battrey tray/under the turret had got wet so had rusted so i've cut it out and replaced it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../Archprep6.jpg
Fixed. My weldings getting better but still not great on the thin stuff.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../Archprep4.jpg
Eveythings been rusted with a rust killer/prohibater hence why its purple.
This is good to show how much seam sealer is sprayed over everything and how much is in the battrey tray/bulk head.

Just how Olly, theys been off and the stainless ones have been orderd ;)

no that actuator isnt supposed to be bent, and it looks like your gonna need a new water feed pipe to the turbo aswell. is that wire which has been bodged the lamda sensor??? if so i have a spanking new one here for you if you want it??? ims ure we could do a deal lol
oh and if you want any pics or need a look on my let i'll pop over and you can have a mooch
Wow, excellent stuff benn! Rich has an intercooler and some very nice pipework for sale too, might be worth pming him. Hmmm, i will but a let oneday!
Pauls told me the actuator rod should be ok.. the two pipes will be replaced while getting hidden.
No f28 ed, space f20 to be sold tho..lol
The lambda will be replaced too.
I want a ic that will fit behind the gsi bumper john, with the less cutted poss...
have a look at rich's for sale threads, iirc he used a frontera intercooler, that fits quite nicely, he did have to trim his front panel a bit though.Quote:

A nice Let will finish your car perfectly
Good price too.
Will look forward to clean up pics, and fitting!!! :)
You'll struggle hiding the fmic, unless you go for a small diesel one or something.
Or do some mods to the crossmember panel
Some pics or rich's for you benn.

Can't seem to find any pics of his intercooler though, must have sold it?
Ive seem them, but i dont want the ic on front. I dont want to cut my gsi anywhere that will show.
I dont mind cutting the front pannel, and will run the f20.Quote:
