After seeing them pics I'm concerned how mine are going to fit in with a bulkhead in the way!
Your getting there Ian and on the home run now. Been watching this thread with interest since you started it. Only took me nearly 4 years to get my Astra sorted so keep at it.

Need to get the cooling system plumed up with the magic bag of random hose (Thankyou please for them Olz:thumb: ) Fuel system plumbed up and then look into getting some banjos fitted on the oil cooler line as I dont want to trust the jubilee clip approach after rebuilding the engine. & then I can get it running! Good times! I hope lol
Can I fit an oil filter without the oil cooled sandwich plate? just a thought as I could get it running without the cooler setup first... Will look into that
Thats all for now
Looking goooood.
All you need to do to get rid of the sandwidge plate for the time being is to get a new centre bolt bit from vauxhall. Have a search on here.
If you remove the oil cooler plate, you can get a fitting to screw the oil filter straight to the pump from vauxhall.
Cars looking good dont know how ive missed this thread, gonna have a look through it now :)
Looks cracking Ian, keep on moving mate..
Some good progress!
Ian Vaux part number 90144360 (a few £ only) will allow you to screw a filter into the pump without the sandwich plate.
I really cant wait to see this all finshed. Keep up the good work !
Nice to see some progress Ian good job!
Ian, I have a few fittings that are suitable for your oil pump.
just read right up to here in the past 90mins.....excellent progress, looking forward to seeing the end result! keep up the good work!

At least this way I can at least get the engine running without having to wait till I have the funds to sort the cooler out.
Thanks again

I'm waiting on delivery of some hose finishers and jubilee clips for the fuel line, and also an inline pressure gauge before I can complete the line to the carbs. And also need to get a rivet gun sorted to get the line P clipped in.
Really happy with the outcome.
Just to check, I have a carb fuel tank, is the feed the larger of the two pipes and the return the smaller??
Also had a look where I'm going to mount the footrest when I get the rivet gun  Also got my shifter finally bolted in, but had to make the hole in the tunnel bigger as it wasn't quite big enough
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/Image146.jpg
Good work Ian, how big's the shifter hole roughly now?
Bigger than it needs to be really lolQuote:
