Town & country waterproof ones mate, the seats are in really good condition & don't have any bolster wear which is unusual so i want to keep them good.

My replacement rocker cover all painted as i was never happy with the old one as it was a bit scabby, not much of an update but i'll get it fitted when the weather is a bit warmer, the garage is no fun when its cold :)

Thinking of taking the gte alloys off and putting it back to original gte wheel trims, bit unsure though...thoughts?
I would keep the alloys on mate but you can always give them a try and see if you like them or not :)
Would be interested I'm the get rims of you ever did sell them - great work
Do you have wheeltrims?
You thinking of white or silver ones?

i think i'm going to do it,i'm a bit bored of the alloys but i will be keeping them as i will probably get bored with the trims eventually as well.
Yeah stick them on and see what they look like. I quite like them.
I think the trims look better on a GTE than the 3 spokes do, go for it. :thumb:
Its a hard call ladd. Its up to personal preference. The trims look good but alloys look better!
Well i've done it,they are on now...i'll upload pics when i get a chance,i actually quite like them :)
I like it :)
Yeh much better I think.
still looking good craig
Look much better I have grown to hate 3 spokes again.
Looking better on them mate, id love a set of monza GSE wheels for mine lol
I think i have to agree it looks better,i thought it would be slightly comfier with the steels as i'm running a different tyre size but it's actually a harder ride for some reason?
you going pvs bud would be good to see the car in the flesh again after all these years lol
Hello mate credit to you with your gte. I was just browsing and came across your thread. I was and kind of still am a massive fan of red nova gtes, ive owned 3 in the past including a 1.6 turbo.
Check the links below if you've not already seen them which might be of help.
I would change the bumper strip to a slightly darker red as that was factory {which I never got round to doing on mine} and deffo change pillar vinyl to dark grey again as factory.
Hope you enjoy

That one is lovely,do you still have it?
the wheels look good mate I like both them :)
I still like the three spokes but i just fancied a change mate, not that i'm bored of the car or anything it's just that with it being on a classic policy i'm limited to what i can do to it....don't worry i wont ruin it's originality, that would just be wrong.
Hello mate and thanks for the comment, unfortunately I don't but looking at your I wish I did. I had the car for like 5 years and thought I'd never sell it after all the work gone in but hey we always want something else. I replaced it with a fully restored Series 1 custom Escort RS Turbo which was one of those cars I said I'd get if I didn't have a nova, that was an awesome car too.
Mate, my GTE was insured under a classic car policy with the mods, wheels and uprated suspension kit, as long as you declare it doesn't really effect the premium. I had a Bilstein B10 suspension kit (shocks & springs) and with the 15" cav slabs, it absolutely transformed the handling, going around roundabouts was like being on rails haha plus the factory GTE suspension was just too high esp the front and don't do the car justice.
Keep up with the good work mate.
Cheers mate,i was thinking of lowering it as well but i'm unsure at the minute..i may do it at some point.

in for it's mot yesterday having covered a huge 450 miles since the last one, unsurprisingly never needed anything but on the way there i decided that as much as i love the look of the wheel trims i cant suffer the harsh ride,it was so much better with the alloys which is strange? The alloys have 175 65 14 tyres and the steels have 185 60 14? I didnt think there would be that much difference...can anybody shed any light?
get the tyres swapped. that will be your only difference ride wise.
think you should try cav slabs mate they were a nice ride ;)
i remember the day i took that car for mot lol
it was a  moment
Thought i would spruce it up a bit for the show on sunday, just a few bits i had collected and never got round to doing..looks a bit better now.

Harsh ride? What shocks are you running if you don't mind me asking? Please don't say "black Bilsteins" as they are utter sh!te for both comfort and handling.
Are they standard GM or standard cheapies?
Well despite everything else being renewed or replaced when it was being restored the shocks that were on it when i bought it as a rolling shell looked ok so with money being tight i only replaced all four springs...so probably the shocks could be aftermarket cheapies.
