Only took you 15 years Martin! Look great :-)
Dunno if I am getting old but I find little mirrors as much use as a chocolate teapot. I have had Irmscher mirrors on the 888 since I bought it in 2005 and not been bothered by them. This year when I drove it I found them rather annoying as I could see 'F' all out of them! Standard mirrors going back on next year.
Also thought it would be a good idea to remove the passenger mirror on the Swing, I have now lost the ability to park the bloody thing on my drive lol
Anyway they look nice but they are totally impractical I presume. Might want to get some of them caravan extending mirrors so you can see what is behind you lol
Like I've always said Martin - All good things come to those who wait :)
Another trick addition for a car already stacked with them! Id say they were a definate improvement on the previous mirrors Martin as novas tend to suit the standardish look etc. Visability wise I bet they are probably better too? Either way I hope your happy with them and I look forward to seeing the car again next year.
Nick.
nice one martin love this nova iwas on carbs too im in the middle ov changing to tbs
Can you actually see anything in those mirrors!? lol
They look a bit silly imo and dont really suit the car (I cant see what 'type' of nova they would suit tbh).
You dont know until you try though I guess!
Yea i can actually see through them :)
I will run with them this season & see how i like them.
When your going that fast who needs mirrors lol
hi mate when u was runing twin 45 carbs wot ignition system was you using
Hi
When I ran the carbs I was using Weber Alpha ignition.
Cheers

Not been happy with the rear beam for a while. Was powdercoated few years ago & starting to get tatty.
Also now iam on rear coilovers i dont like the fact the weight of the car at the rear sits on shock brackets not designed to take the weight.
So today off it came

Will take to work this week to get brakets welded on then powder coaters owe me a favour i will be calling in so hopefully soon back & putting back together.
Great work Martin!
Sweet those tabs should take the weight a bit better! I thought powdercoat would have lasted for more than two years.
Did you make the tabs? Or buy them? (If bought where from as i want to do the same)
HI Benn,
Bought mate from Rally Design.
There for a RWD Escort.
RD520 I think was the part number & only a couple of quid.
Hopefully will find out this week if they work. Seem ok so cant see why not.
Ah nice, cheers dude. Makes life a bit easier for when i do mine..
I see an MGB GT? too...
Humm nice idea on the new mounts Martin, i might order some for the new project, as im thinking do all these small things properly this time round!
You see a Sunbean Alpine.
Its me dads & he had it since he was a young lad like me & the Nova so part of the family now.
Not used it for a few years cos my Nova is always infront of it & he cant get it out!! :)
They are looking forward to me selling my house & getting my own garage & finally getting their garage back!!
woah good work mart, liking the lil trolley. You tool'd and knowledge'd up on aero ally oil/fuel connectors then?
Hi Dave
No dont have much knowledge on Aero fittings.
I have a good local Hydraulic company that has got all my Goodridge over the years. I just in this instance took the sandwich plate in & let them spec what i needed.
As for tools, no not got the proper Goodridge ally spanners so its just standard garage tools for me. Not ideal but does the job :)
Got some undersealing to do this week if its not too cold in the garage & need to spray rear disk stone guards again & few other bits.
Martin
works looking good old lad, love the rear caliper setup
Not really much of an update, but its all ive done so far this week!
Took ream beam into work & welded the new rear shock brackets on.
Dropped beam this afternoon at the powdercoaters & hopefully end of next week it will be back looking like new :)

Might pop & drag it (literally as it has no rear wheels!) out of the garage as i want to re-underseal under rear arch whilst wheels are off.
Dunno i will be arsed as its sooo cold!
Erm dude the new mount not get in the way of the bolts (bolt holes..)
Looks great tho..
The bolts for the stub axle?
I took bolts with me & made sure i could still get them in before we welded them on. There OK :)
Ah nice, they look right in the way.
See mine has studs that sit thru, so i dont think i could use the mount sadly :(
Went and did a bit this morning.
Couldnt really be bothered as it was so cold but need to get a few jobs done before the beam comes back so i can put it all back together.
Put some underseal under the arches & started to spray the rear disc stone guards.
Was really too cold for spraying so did a little then called it a day and came home to the warm!

Not really much of an update but picked the beam up today from the powdercoaters.
Quite happy with it considering it was a freebie favour they owed me :)
