Brilliant Pete, it's looking awesome
It does indeed look very tasty. The whole package looks unique. I'd park the wiper a bit further down though
Looking really good pete, love the attention to detail the painted distributor opening rear quarter windows it all looks spot on mate
Oh dear...its broken!!
Got a heavy misfire/hesitation under load. Will have to begin the investigation. Plugs, leads, dizzy and arm are all new. Loom to the AFM is abit iffy so this will be my first port of call.
Uh oh thats not good, im still enjoying trouble free abuse use of mine lol
lol i wonder if i have been too hard on mine. Actually....scrap that, thats not possible!!
I think it felt left out....my mates evo has lunched its headgasket, my other mates Porsche has some seriously iffy brakes and the steering locks on randomly!!
Ah well, out with the spanners and tools and get it fixed.
Very nice that, it reminds me of one we built years ago in the same colour!
Good to see it is still alive and my interior lives on :thumb: (I stitched the entire front seats by hand- not machine.....lol)
It lives on!! Very well!
Did abit of fetteling the other day...its amazing what a difference a few clean earths and loom plugs can achieve! Idle speed is now as it should be, rev counter has lost the hunting but it shoots round to the stop above 4k lol and the lumpy running has disappeared.
Thats why I love these engines - as long as they are looked after any 'problems' can usually be sorted in minutes!
Just declared it as sorn. Bloody skint. Got my wedding in February!!
Will be wrapped up until next year now!
ah shame i haven't seen it.
I haven't seen this all finished til now, and it looks bloody great. Really impressive, last pics of it I saw were stripped down...
I really like it, clean simple but still enough personal touches to make it stand out. Very nice
Theres always next year Benn!!
Thanks Paul.
Know how you feel lol
Mines coming off the road very soon due to wedding costs, bloody expensive day lol
Damn, was hoping for a trip to Gatwick next Friday in her!
Like hell lol
Well, this still exists. Will be taxing it and insuring it again soon. Looking to get some serious mileage on it this year with a view to stripping it over the next winter.
Stripping down to sell????!!!!
Or rebuild?
Sorry, that didnt really read right!
Have contemplated selling it. Having kids and plenty of DIY to do i dont really have time to work on it/use it.
But i have considered stripping it (seats interior etc) fitting a cage and buckets and giving it abuse. Might be more inclined to use it then. Also because i keep it at my mums i forget i have it some times! Ill see how the land lies later in the year!
Surley any time the weather is good you can use it...
lol if only. Having kids and always something child/family related going on means i cant just pop out for a drive when it suits. I have to plan it in!!!
New rose jointed linkage...

But i seem to have opened a can of worms with the new nylon bushes!!
^ how so?
See thread in mechanical. Although all sorted now.
Insurance done this week. Hopefully get it back together at the weekend and then MOT next week and tax. 6 months motoring. Yay! Now, wheres that sun gone lol
Where did you pick the gear linkage up pal?
Its my original link i had converted. Have yet to road test it yet, but initially feels great.
Rolled it out the garage today for some MOT checks. Hopefully get it in this week, then tax.
i bought another linkage, am going to rose joint it :) those nylon bushes are **** haha a just want to see this on the porker rims haha
Porsche rims have been sold. Had bigger and more important things to spending cash i dont have on lol
:O sell them for a good price yeah
Sorry if it has been covered in the thread Pete but do you have any pictures of the slots you cut in the b pillars for the opening windows? A friend has the same problem on his mk2 but isn't sure what to do, can you help?
All i did was placed the grey metal window surrounds in and scribed around the holes in them. BUT...do NOT make the same mistake i did! I then cut the slot which was way too big for the rubber! From memory it was trial and error with the rubber. Cant remember the exact measurement as i had to weld part of it up!
was this MANY moons ago lol ^^
Were can i find tht front splitter in the first pic mate
Alex....many moons ago lol
Splitter was a golf VR6 one. Absolute nightmare!!! Caught even fag packets!!!
Not a great deal to update, but after watching back my on track videos from Castle Combe, i thought a decent camcorder mount is in order. So....lol i got creative!!!
