update for yesterday,
seemed to have gained a couple of friends behind the car...

they are now deceased.
onto more progress, had been laying on my back all day stripping the underseal off from the rear of the car. must have been 4/5hrs in total. it had paid off tho as i managed to get it in primer and put seam sealer on.

todays progress, stripped all the underseal from the front section of the car, got it in primer and put seam sealer on. the rear is now in underseal. just got to paint it and it should be done.

todays update, finished off undersealing the car. also did the lower half of the sill too. this is the first coat.

then gave it the first coat of hammerite, took soooo long. will be doing another coat tomorrow, depending if it snows or not.

bought the rest of the parts i need to finish off my cage. one sleeve, 2 door bar brackets, some more stainless cap head bolts and some button headed allen bolts
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSC02640.jpg
positioned the door bars in place, cut them to length and welded them all on.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSC02642.jpg
then onto where i cut the front section in half, put the sleeve on and punched where the holes should be. drilled them out and bolted it up.

current state of the car, still looking sorry for its self.

will be taking the car back to my garage in the next week or so. hopefully get some bodywork done before i do.
untill next time.
What underseal did you use? Didn't think you could paint over the usual gooey stuff.
You can but it takes a good few coats.
im using an underseal made by comma. dries matt black and has a rubbery texture to it. great stuff. theres a picture of the can a few pages back.
managed to get out to the car again today, so put another coat of hammerite on underneigth. gave it a hoover and general tidy up awell. hopefully look like a car again sometime.

Good times, are you giving it a 3rd coat?
unfortunately yes, takes about 2hrs to do and almost the whole can(750ml) of hammerite. so got to get another can.
Good work dude, i hate doing things like that, my neck was killing for days after i did mine! lol
had today off work so did a bit more on the car, was at the autosport show yesterday and ordered some bushes and braided brake lines from rally design. should arrive by wednesday.:)
gave the underside another coat of hammerite, should be enough i reckon.
then proceeded with stripping off the soundeadening from inside the car. came up easy with a heat gun.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSC02657.jpg
then went about fitting the rear beam. got it all in place without the springs to start with, then fitted one of my irmscher softstars that are normally fitted. when i went over a bump, the o/s/r wheel would catch the arch. so i heated up the paint on the arch then hammered and dolleyed the arch lip flat.
all was ok with the wheel now, but ive encounted another future problem. ill be running coilovers and i imagine these will hit the wheel. i run 205/40/16 tyres so will have to get some 195/45/16's for that little bit more clearance.
can someone measure up the diameter of a rear coilover, pretty please.:d
with not much else that i could be bothered with, i welded up the indicator hole on the o/s wing. gave it a little filler.

will have a little update for tomorrow id imagine.
