I think you should of cleaned/painted the engine up it lets the rest of the immaculate car down.

Just read through all of this, done a cracking job fella, not sure on flame red though, sorry, will see how it looks in a couple of years time, hoping to buy Gunnys GSi shell and am debating whether to keep it black or change the colour!
I would match the paint on the headcover and get a new 1.2 transfer made and make it look like mint condition original.
still an awesome car either way mate.
Red should be OK in a few years time, it's laquered so shouldn't fade like an original Flame Red.
Was thinking of getting a "1.6 TWIN 40" transfer made for the rocker cover, as the injection part is a bit out of place now!!
