Started out as a white Gte iirc. Spankee (on mig) used to own it. Think he was one of the first to try the 1.6 8v turbo conversion. He turned it into the blue Nova you see above. There was a lot of chrome in the engine and was pretty rapid too. This was then bought by Chris Ward. He didn't own it for too long. Again, if i remember correctly it was a tempromental bugger. I know this because I had to use my AA membership to get Chris and his car home when he attended one of the MK meets many, many years ago. In fact, it was so long ago that even Wisewood appeared in his Saab, lol.

thanks for that jim. youre certainly right about the rapid bit, saw it one night at a set of traffic lights, went to green and planted the throttle and it was torque steering all over the road! looked and sounded awesome!! lol

and even i was around back then!. it was a class motor, i owned the RS recaro seats from it at one point

Jeeeeeeez! 75 pages brings back some amount of memories!!! Will have to dig out my old photos going back to 98 and see if i can get the scanner working, especially since my shed seemed to avoid all the pics so far apart from the odd corner sticking out lol.

Unfortunately the sri's now long since dead, was completely rotten after too long sat outside when my 1.6 16v conversion ran out of steam.

Got the nova bug well and truly again now though. Going to have to drag the L reg out of storage and get her straightened up!!! Not so sure on the softstars now though, Mim rafino's are sooooo tempting as are racelines, MO's........ and then there's the sport................
