Was it a guy on MIG selling Wilwood 280mm setup with spare pads etc just before PV Show? If so don't look at my WIP thread lol
Cheers Benn, where did you get them from and I'll order some new bleed nipples for mine too
Erm what are?
Hahaha yeah that's it. I should be scared of you.. What are you 11 stone soking wet?
Rally Design. They have a whole page of them (you mtch the caliper number up) But from what they told me, even tho there are 10 listed they are all the same...
Benn when he comes up to your car his mirror like reflection will scare him
hahahahahaha as long as he doesn't touch...lol
I'm 11 and a quarter stone ACTUALLY lol

Nice nipples. :-)
A simple but nice change is how is how i looked at it...lol Make a big difference on bleeding them.
Some of you will know i've been unhappy with my wiper motor setup. I've modded a Corsa B one to fit, but the wipe was crap due to the angle the spindles sat through the scuttle panel. So i went back to a French one, unsure what it's from. But it's a little bigger than the one most use, so it touches the build head, so again the spindle doesn't have enough angle. Shame too as i've started to like the single wiper look, which i didn't before.
So after seeing Ian's super charged Nova at PVS and seeing how he had mounted his Nova motor, i had a few thoughts and started to build....
Motor sat in place, adjusted few and there to be right.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps0c6f53c4.jpg
Worked out how to stand it, started to make some legs from 5mm steel bar i had in stock.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps66af299d.jpg
Welds so nicely.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psad5d3e4c.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psa3167896.jpg
Now because of where it sit, there wasn't a flat surface on the pass side, so it had to be angled. So i had to hold it in place, tack the legs together then remove it all again!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psfd37593f.jpg
Yes there is a gap, wasn't an easy one to fab up due to space.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psf89c071b.jpg
So use the bit i cut off, clamp in and weld in..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psd04c0d55.jpg
Turn over and do the same..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psd4c5e4e5.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psc2038565.jpg
Yes i know my welding isn't the tidiest.
Arty..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psc1d322af.jpg
Two bracket/legs.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps6982a241.jpg
So refit it all, needs to people as it bolts up from under the dash...
Bend the Nova linkage a small amount so the end lines up with the ball joint.
Find the arm on the motor hit the base its bolted too..
Remove it for the 4th time. Raise all 3 holes...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps04071837.jpg
Refit again and test.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37vlV...ature=youtu.be
Yay it all works, ok it's a bit shakey due to the rubbers.. Unsure what i can do there tho (Dan suggest nylon?)
So remove it all again. Take apart, get it a coat of etch primer.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps412f01a8.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psfbb61e91.jpg
Then paint direct to metal black, in the sun for that baked on goodness.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psc41e862b.jpg
Funny i know as it's all hidden, but had to be done.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pse67af5e0.jpg
That's that till i refit again! tomoz...
So while there, i did a bit of rerouting a tidying in the scuttle of pipes and vac lines, gave it a good wash out as it was still filthy from it's time at the bodyshop..
Before..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps513f2681.jpg
Wash out, dry in sun, then i used a sealant i've just got, for hard to work on arears (using it on the undersides of mine)
After... No pics yet..lol
More soon.....
Good work on the wipers, sometimes its the simple ideas that work best (ie just moving the std motor)
Nice work, slow the wire speed down a tad on your welder and you will see an improvement :)
Cheers gary, yea i wish i had just tried it ages ago.
Thank you Jake, i set it up from the book when i got it.. now i just tend to change the power as needed.
it wasnt a criticism it was just an observation, wire speed can make a big difference. Things like arc length (how far away your contact tip is from the work peice) will dictate voltage drop too so its important to try and keep that as short as possible, dont be scared to play around till you find something that your comftable with :)
I didn't take it as one, i'm always happy getting tips. I have adjusted it a bit, to get what i feel is a better weld.. And yep was told to keep the tip as close as i can too.
lol As said, i didn't like a single before, but now i kinda do. But i want a good screen clearing wipe. And with a single so far i've not got that. What do you use?
One of those old storm off the shelf ones, but seeing as you can weld, anything's possible to adapt. Wipe's fine, guess it comes down to correct straight arm & blade.
Can you still buy them? I do like the single look if its set right over.. But at the mo i thing i'll be happy with good working ones.
Prices haven't changed much from somewhere like here: http://www.autotintdesign.com/singlewipers.html
But all you're paying for is a bit of adjustment on a piece of bent steel tube with the same factory ends; isn't what you're running chopped about anyway because of where the motor is? You could adapt that.
Or if you moving the motor anyway... :) (from here: clikky)

its better use a Citroën single wiper or modify the vauxhall?
The Citroen one means it all nice and compact. Good if you have no fire wall.
You loose intermittent wipe with the Ax motor
ZX mechanism you bolt on the Nova motor to retain intermittent wipe, can't you do the same with AX?
Surprised you couldn't get the single one set up right, that said mine needed some tweaking to work effectively, but your solution looks like a good one!
i used the car for racing, I guess the most used mode will be continuous.
Car looked lovely at Billing Benn, in my pics I noticed little cracks around the right hand side of the pront bumper where it meets the wing, did someone tap it?
My wife loves your car.
Sorry i missed these replies.
Not if you use the nova motor... ;)
I dont know what my set up came from, it doesn't look like the AX one, casing was bigger. Which gave me probs. As it touched the bulk head, so i couldn't get more angle on it (for the wiper spindle) I've adjusted it, cut it welded it you name it.
Sorry i didn't see you there, but thank you very much. Yeah they re-apear after a few months everytime. It's where its bends to curve around the wings. Even with spending ages lining it up to make the gaps even
I like your wife more and more xx
Small up date,
If anyone remembers back to what i smashed my turbo in to my rad, it was all down to this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps3e98b096.jpg
Never been happy with it or the water pipe.. So popped to a hydo place with my old turbo and asked about a smaller tighter bending fitting... They found me this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps7b5678d0.jpg
Much better, means the pipe tucks right up under the slam panel again.
Ordered these for Billing... They came on the Monday after...

So from there at the weekend we did the "Simply Vauxhall" show at Beaulieu. Sadly it needs to be alot more busy. But!
At lunch time i was told there was a bit of paper under my wipers... I had been chosen for the "people choice" award. Which was really nice as none of my lot had voted as we all forgot...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps656ac076.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps2ff4142b.jpg
Extra nice, as i didn't wipe the car off or anything when we got there.. Sadly i didn't win, but was in the top 5!
So smile all round.
I like the grey slats in the grill.
Looks like you spotted the sniper photographer in that shot of you, lol
Was the simply vauxhall show no good then?
love the grill ben :)
