Congratulations! Always better when money spent on mods improves things!
Was considering building a car port at home so i could park the car under it through the day while i work in the garage on other things. My lift is permanently taken up by the nova. Until someone pointed it out to me all i need is an enclosed trailer. After searching for one to buy 6k starting money for something half good i decided to just order the gear in at work and build my own. 550 quid for 10 lengths of 1.5 wall erw box section and 10 alloy sheets and its half way there after today. We are going in tommorow to sheet it then it will be off to the body shop to be painted gloss black. Only adding a tiny 180kg to the trailers weight. Will also double up as somewere to sleep when we are away racing. Big door / ramp going on the back and small door on the fronthttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...06a0ce7c4a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e27b079080.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7d9dedb193.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2328ead175.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fb32c79949.jpg

I like that a lot. Well done for thinking outside the box to make a box! [emoji3526]
Yeah I like that too, I've got a tiny bit of weight left in my trailer and always considered doing this too.
Nearly finished.
Massive help from nud sr today to try and get this thing all sheeted over. But ran out of time. Looking to have it painted black with polished checker plate around the bottom edge something like the ones in the pictures. All the hard work done now thoughhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7cc966a54e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3e259c621b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...282d14a34c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9377aa5930.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...526537e8cf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b17ba71a7f.jpg

You gonna weigh it to see how much you've added?? Out of interest.
I usualy would however i know the weight of every sheet and every bit of erw box i used and 10 sheets + 10 lengths of box weigh 181kg and i have near enough used it all up. Give or take 15 kg for the infil 5 bar alloy sheet for the floor. 200kg intotal with door catches ect

Perfect!!
Having seen yours it makes me want to do the same on mine
Very nice sir!
All i can suggest is if you are riveting the sheet on like i have make sure you have an air or battery riveter. There is around 550 rivets in the full job and i cant imagine doing it with a standard rivet tool lol.

Hmmm problem this is what happens when sellers lie about items. Was told this was a standard width kit off the lads rally car. Blatently not.
So they will be going up forsale if any one is interested. 50mm wide trackhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...92a56256a6.jpg

Got very lucky and the friendly guy at superfwd has offered to alter it into a standard width kit for me. Cant get better service than that considering i didnt even buy them off him

Awesome - I cant recommend SuperFwd enough - Iain is a true gent!
That?s a good result that. Annoying though. We all make mistakes, but seriously?!?
Mate to be fair i expected some sort of issue i had nothing but chew just trying to get the arms after i had payed / parts missing when they did arrive. He says he took them off his own rally car but didnt know it was wide track. Some people just dont know when to stop lying lol anyway atleast they are getting sorted was more pissed off i had stripped my car already lol

Jon at superfwd fixed the bottom arms for me and now they fit perfect. Just gota button it back up now and i can eventually get on with the new engine mods

Nothing worse than opening something you've bought to find it's not what you brought!!!
The disappoint is real.
Atleast you're sorted now and onto the next job
Just got the bottom arms in and all set somewhere near. Fire it up to give it a run and it just cant help its self. Hole rotted in one of the front core plugs. Luckily the easiest one to get to. Still means all the front off yet again thoughhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...23db3d4775.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...44347c1b8f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5d70174fb9.jpg

Is the fuel tank location a safety thing, or beneficial being right at the back?
Furthest point i can get it up in the car mate to stop as much wind resistance. Or help anyway
