Got the timing belt on and then i couldnt find tensioner spring so came to a holt :(
I pumped the tyres up,checked all levels and I am going to tax it next week :). I also had the car started today in the garage and 2 coppers pulled up in the van! They came running over basically shouting look its a fekin nova sr! Then asked if they could have a close look. So they did and the both of them were very impressed with my car and told me about their novas that they used to own lol
Fitted a new battery, new battery terminals and re-did some wiring. Also repaired my fuel tank breather pipe that was split and kinked so wouldn't allow fuel into the tank properly. After a drive I found the pipe going to the fuel filter is also split, so about to go and do that now lol.
drove to castle combe, ragged it, and drove it home, ate crisps in it and drank redders!
Put a jerry can of petrol in it, hope it gets me to the end of the road, lol
Took it out for the first time this year, been a long time waiting for a dry day and the council to stop being salt spraying addicts

Runs like a dream, had a big grin on my face blasting around in it. Fingers crossed for a decent summer so I can use it again!
Looks well tidy that does, what you running??
And I got most of the way installing my new 1400 and then realised my engine mounts don't have the bolts for any of them :(:wall:
Cheers, it looks a lot better in the picture than real life, didn't have the best spray job in the world... by me. But I don't mind much, since it has no rust now and every part bolted onto it, including the bolts themselves, are immaculate.
1.3 running sport twin 40s, AST2 cam etc. so much fun, puts my Celica GT to shame.
Tasty.
Looks nice Paul.
Took the dash out of my mk1, and cut up a brown sport dash in the name of weight saving lol:)
Finally taxed the SR for the...............hot summer .............hopefully;)
been out in mine, did a lot of wheel spinning and tourqe steering and decided too much power aint that much fun tbh
^ how much is too much? :)
402hp, 380lbft
Nice, you had it up the strip?
no, just mess about in it when weather is nice
I'm needing a mess about with it Mathew :) lovely motor
Well this isn't today, but yesterday attended a local retro car meet in Newton Abbot, the SR got lots of attention which was good and everyone was impressed. :)
Today (as its raining) will hopefully consist of me selling my mx5 track car which means I can then put some money into the SR in the form of twin weber carbs, management and a few other bits...
should have popped to dawlish and got me would have come along haha
i know of some twin forties in dawlish also if i can get hold of 6 pot
I looked at my nova today if that counts diagnosing the BMW thou :(
Well my SR has been for a run to Darlington and back to collect my built up wheels for my Rover 45 run around.
Just about to get the Rover Vitesse Fired up and off my wagon trailer along wityh the Nova Sport
fitted new speedo cable (cav lol)
What have i done to my nova today.....
Nothing today, but yesterday i fitted the new shaft, and drove it :d
looked at it, shut garage door
cant afford to tax it for a few months
yesterday ran half of the internal brake lines
Today I disconnected my TPS and the car ran a lot better, no kangarooing at full throttle and doesn't bog down at low revs when cold... so need to get a new one during the week, does anyone know if the pattern part ones are any good? I know it needs to be for an early c20xe engine rather than the later type, but want to know if its something that needs to be genuine or not.
dont buy pattern ones there crap imo, ive been through 2 in 320 miles
^^ genuine ones on ebay bud
£30 iirc not sure how much dealers charge tho
I can find the Intermoto ones that look the same as whats on the car, but the Kerr Nelson ones look different in shape etc...
taxed it and she is now legal to drive
I taxed mine aswell :)
