Porn.
How thick are the panels your welding in, you dont see to have any distortion in the what so ever :)
1mm mate and its because im s h i t hot lolQuote:

rule of thumb i go by is that if you rest the base of your hand on the pannel when your welding it when tthe heat starts to get uncomftable i.e when the welds roughly an inch or 2 long its time to move over to the oposite end while it cools down takes ages but you get there in the end
looking sweet ste, gotta say some excellent work going into this keep it up,cant wait to see it done, top work
Ste cracking update, looking really good now, very different approch to most 4x4 projecrs.
Scott
Good stuff Ste. I hope to fcukery youve measured up the width of the "base" part of whatever seats your fitting tho?? Else you might encounter some proper issues trying to find seats in a small enough width to fit :S
wow nuff said..
Them arches are a monstrosity, sorry
Serious fab work mate! Keep it up!
pmsl there not my arches mate there the new inners lolQuote:

Excellent work Ste and looking forward to the article in next months Tv
mate this is f*cking awesome!!!
Cannot wait to see this finished,
Will be a right animal!!!
Lots of fab work there matey, just curious as to what the final weight it will be? looking at the box used ect and not forgeting the 4x4 running gear will it not be rather heavy? have you a weight in mind.
Dont take that at a negative im just curious.
The problem of more weight will probably be overcome with more POWER ( in a clarkson voice lol )
cracking skills mate, I hope I get to see it in action someday :)
weight question has been anwsered a few times now mate think you will be surprised there are detailed posts explaining weight ect alittle further back which should anwser your question mate
and also as bazil put it 500+ poneys of usable traction controlable power food for thought
pluss dta with als maps and 2 step launch control all good things though will get to all that later on in the build but its all in the pipe line and most the bits are already in the shed lol
is it still gonna be road legal ste??
thats the plan
 bye bye to most things that try it on at the lights then lol
Is the car to be caged also? ive just read the previous posts but i still think it will be heavier than you think, but until its weighed then its a guessing game, will the let transmission cope with the estimated power?Quote:

What will the car be used for? lot of work gone into it just to be road car?
Could say the same about hundreds of thousands of modified & kit cars though could you no :wtf:Quote:

A nova that will have 500ish bhp and may weigh less that 1000kg will be stupidly fast, my only concern would it may be to light and struggle for grip, but that is an easily overcome problem with huge fat sticky tyres and possably ballast.
To many people write of 4x4 cars as to heavy and to slow of the line, that simply isn't the case.
Mate, im not saying the weight will be an issue, all im saying is i dont think it will be as light as many think!Quote:

Correct, which is a shame.Quote:
