Ha - I had no idea it was you!? lol. Sorry I was a tad merry - it was my house warming party!
I think its cos you conatcted me through Mig and not on here!!
Sorry mate - would have offered you a beer had I known!!
It's looking good now! Coming together nicely!
Oh, and the red mesh isn't great. Black FTW
it should look great once done, having problems getting holder of my painter though. keep trying him but it seems like he's disapeared off the face of the earth.Quote:

the cam cover is indeed powder coated grey, the light does play tricks with the look of it.
black looks to be the best option so far, i had the red fitted over 2 and a half years ago, so time to change it.Quote:

Coolio, does look good in grey. Hope that 13mm hose bends well without kinking as IIRC there is a bit of a bend round from the tank into the pump (that's how I remember anyway.
Did you still need the hazard switch?
i do still need it, i will definately have it off you some time soon. lol
i have the 13mm hose coming straight out the sender over the rear beam, held on by a 'p' clip to the spare wheel well and into the pump. the 8mm hose that comes out of the pump has got to do a 180degree turn on itself.
Cool mate, let me know when you're ready, I'll put it aside for you :thumb:
any updates???????????
there is but i havnt been bothered to update it, but i will for your sake. :)Quote:

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3730.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3731.jpg
cleaned up the back of the spoiler ready to be stuck down to the tailgate.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3729.jpg
also wire wheeled and jet washed the sealer and dirt from the inside of the wing. the insides being painted so needed to be clean.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3732.jpg
havning both fans i fitted them onto the radiator. the intercooler mounting bracket had to be modified slightlyas it was a bit taught on the fans. both wired up to blow air through the rad.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3733.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3747.jpg
boost pipes finally fitted securely
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3734.jpg
extended the wiper motor wires and shortened the horn wiring as it now just runs in the battery area and not all around the engine bay.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3759.jpg
i decided how i wanted to run the engine loom, after seeing how edd had done his i gave it a go. the loom plug is the worst part to get into any hole. using a hole saw i cut 2 holes then elongated it to suit.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...DSCN3745-1.jpg
its a very tight fit getting all the loom through the hole and to the right of the brake pedal, but after half hour and a broken back later it was in place.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3748.jpg
trying to sort out my engine problems i ordered a new pump, coolant and air temp sensor.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3761.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN3760.jpg
i tested the pump on a battery before i fitted it, the pump didnt work. but i thought id get it on just incase it needed some fuel to help get it going. it was worse than the other pump i had so thats got to go back.
i now have a sytec pump which works off a battery (havnt tested on car yet) and a new fuel rail reg as i mine is still the XE one.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...62011221-1.jpg
whilst inbetween all that ive painted the door catches in the same grey as the fuel cap, window surrounds and skirts.

the day come to take the car over to the bodyshop. got a mate to bring his trailer over so we could move it. big thanks to him

it safely arrived at the bodyshop where it will be a for a bit.

thats it up untill now, its been at the bodyshop all week and hasnt been touched. getting rather annoyed as it he should have done some work. i will be having a word with him.
more to come soon
thanks for looking

Good progress Bruce, bet you're glad it's at the shop now it'll feel more like it's complete when it's out. That's a very good idea on running the loom. It did occur to me to route it that way (didn't see Edd'd thread) but I was thinking if it'd be worth doing it the normal way (i.e. by the battery) It would stay dryer in that position and it'll mean less clutter. Something I'll need to consider really.
Is that pump in internal pump that you're gonna run external? Looks slimmer than a normal pump.
Any pics of where the loom enter the car from the inside? It's a very nice way of doing it.
Painted?
is an external one, same size as the others i got.Quote:

that doesnt sound promising to be fair, if i was you i'd just turn up and remove the car asap with no warning, you should get it painted elsewhere as he'll just rush it and its got to be the most important part of the build, in my eyes if your paying them for a job in its a half arsed effort, especially if hes avoiding the fone then they aint worth spitting on let alone giving them your money,no matter how good they are:d
comming along well!! (as for the mesh, paint it in the same grey you have used elsewhere :D )

did you manage to get your painter in to gear??
Looks awesome now mate, really coming on nice, hope you get something sorted with the painter etc.

update
has been a hell of along time since an update. as my previous posts the painter had the car alot longer than what he first said. i now have the car back with some interesting updates for you all. here we go.
i picked up the car from the bodyshop to take it have the exhaust made. the car still needs polishing and colour sanding as the reflection isnt the best, will get done at a later date. didnt take the panels that day as i had no where to put them and didnt want them getting damaged.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4430.jpg

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4429.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4426.jpg
on to the exhaust centre. some may remember i bought a powerflow system off a member on here but it didnt fit due to the middle section hitting the gear linkage. i took along what i had and my 3inch down pipe so they could couple something together for me. left with them for the day and came back to find a nice new exhaust system.
one burley man making the exhaust.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4439.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4444.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4442.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4440.jpg
they cut off the end from my down pipe and made a nice little joinable section onto the middle section. they didnt have any 2.5inch silencers in so they left it out and told me to see how it sounds once i get the car running. they also remade the part from the rear silencer i had to the middle.
got them to weld in another lamda bung, all to be revealed.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4445.jpg
loaded back on the trailer and off home we went.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4449.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4447.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4446.jpg
with lots still to do, i cracked on.
started on with the doors, got the surrounds (which i painted),window runner (yet again painted) and the glass in.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4453.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4456.jpg
gave the top trim of the door a lick of satin black to match the rest of the interior. came out pretty good.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4454.jpg
door cards on. they need cleaning but havnt got round to it yet. also got to sort out the interior door handle surrounds and a blank for the manual winder.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4489.jpg
rubber gaiters covering the door wires and allen key bolts holding the check strap on, they still need painting.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4500.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4501.jpg
exterior door handles on, electric windows are all working along with the central locking. result
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4488.jpg
dont know if i updated these but i painted the skirts in the matching grey of the surrounds etc. fitted the fins on...
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4499.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4455.jpg
painted the rest of the dash pieces
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4455.jpg
and fitted...
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4460.jpg
atleast this matches the car colour now. lol
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4487.jpg
i bought a wideband contoller so i can keep an eye on the engine. as im not running a stereo i bought a 3 gauge blank for it.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4452.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4451.jpg
all fitted and wired in. still got to buy a boost and oil temp gauge
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...DSCN4462-1.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4496.jpg
this weekend i picked up the rest of my panels from the painter.
ooh....

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4479.jpg

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4491.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4492.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4485.jpg

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4504.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4502.jpg
with all the luck in the world i bonded the spoiler down.....if it dont stick ill leave the rags and tape on and change the theme of the car.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4505.jpg
Thats starting to look real well fella. :) Hope you sort the running issues out soon.
Nick.
Love it :)
after about 2years buttering around my corsa b linkage fits and works. it marginally misses the battery. phew.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4497.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN4498.jpg
the spindles are longer than nova items so ive got to figure out how to cover them up
the engine is still playing up. sometimes it runs, sometims it dont. it has started to run on with the ignition being switched off, found out my dash clocks are messed up on the traces so need a new set. at one point today i had it working as it should. stopping and starting on the key. but now it does what it does before and wont start. ill sort it soon.
thanks for looking and more updates to come soon.
bruce
Ooooh that exhaust looks nice, like the bend to avoid the gear linkage. How many beer tokens did you give up for the exhaust?
thanks nick. i hope so to. its something electrical either in the car loom or engine loom. i think its the car loom as when the dash clocks were shorting and making the engine continue to run, some earth or live is dodgy. were to start!!
cheers cle :)
it is quite nice. when i paid for it the bloke said it should easily be 300plus vat as its been mandrel bent and the amount of time spent on it. but i paid £228 with vat. not too shabby!!
the tip doesnt sit straight and as the bumper wasnt on the car it dont fit right. ill just take it back to them and ask for them to cut the tip off at an angle and reweld it.
That's a good price. Hope the welds are stainless too. I'm gonna have to travel to get my exhaust done by the looks of it. So far haven't found any locally that do what I want.
looking good what shade of blue is it?
Looking great! Not long now!! :-)
looking really good now dude, love the colour
update
i finally have an update! havnt touched the car in months due to lack of inspiration and money. the car still hadnt fired up correctly and got me down quite a bit. saved up a few pennys to buy myself another ECU, which i thought was causing the problem.
asked a few regular sellers of LET parts to see what ECU's they had around. one come up trumps with one for £80. knowing they dont come this cheap normally i snapped it up, with the person being well known id have thought when you ask for something they wouldnt be stupid to send an item that people dont want, in this instance a HD ecu.
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN6181.jpg
most people now this is the one out of three LET ecus that is immobilised. knowing that if the chips were changed it would no longer be immobilised and seeing it had corsa written on the back i was hoping to god they had been changed.
opened it up and found this......
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...8/DSCN6179.jpg
more fool the seller i say. :d
that night i went and tryed it on the car, to may dismay it didnt start.
next thing on my list was to change the loom, it had once upon a time had a melt down session. i had checked continuity on the wires and couldnt find a fault, but it only takes on wire for it not to start. contacted cemex off migweb about a loom, have bought parts off him before and he isnt a million miles from me.
picked up an uncut loom from him yesterday £90
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...7122011300.jpg
today i set about removing the old loom, why did i run it into the cabin through the pedal box. took me ages to get it back out. only differance with this loom is that the normal 5pin plug that connects to the mini loom isnt there. there is 2 2 pin plugs which i imagin are for the knock sensor and ICV. anyone confirm this?
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...7122011299.jpg
fitted the new one (without putting it in the correct place), messed about a bit and got it to fire up! RESULT!!!
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...7122011301.jpg
put it back in the garage untill i got more time to get it all back together.
more to come.
bruce
Nice one mate, wondered where this had gone.
Result on the ECU or what eh?! Just sell your other one.
Fantastic! I'm sure all enthusiasm has returned :-)
Nice little surprise there Brucer
Looking good dude.
Yes.Quote:
