Got myself some Halfords Professional torque wrenches today (good price with trade discount!) and torqued up my main bearings. On to the end one I used this sealant:

Part number for those interested (assuming you want to trust I'm using the right product!):

Haynes was very vague on this, and a quick search revealed nothing. So I've applied sealant along the groove, and on the inside edge like this:

Bolted in and smoothed the remaining sealer like so:

Be OK in the block won't it?

Started fitting the rings to my pistons. For those interested, they go as follows:
- Top ring has a silver edge and is the one WITHOUT the step (not as Damen said above). 'TOP' is on top.
- Middle ring has a black edge and is the one WITH the step. 'TOP' is on top.
- Oil scraper etc on bottom, don't think it matters which way up this lot goes?!
Planning on having my ring gaps as follows (if I've interpreted Haynes correctly):
- Top ring, gap at top (if looking from exhaust side)
- Second (middle) ring, gap on bottom (if looking from exhaust side)
- Oil scraper, gap at top. Two rings next to oil scraper approx 3cm away from oil scraper gap (each 3cm away in opposite directions, so 6cm away from eachother).
