Mmm if you're doing bushes get the lower arms ones too.
im very well buddy
hope this weather does one so i can maybe get my interior in, how is the weather down south? how far away are you from Romsey?
Heres the list on rally design CLICK check the numbers??
Looking great. I love that alternator mod! You need to get gaz to strip them coilovers down and have the bodies chromed though ;)!
Update.
So after lots of messing about and Dan saying i must have another alt in the garage, i had a tiny clear up and found 3... One which was the same! Got the nut off and after a clean it fitted. But then it wouldn't turn very well, so took the alt apart again, found the bottom cup bearing wasn't seated fully down. Mr hammer fixed that. Rebuild and get fitted. Fitted my chromed adjuster arm too.. Big thanks to Dan his his help too.
Fitted.

Shame with the top hat cover on you can barely see it.. But you and i know it's there so i'm happy.
More car out of garage, finish cleaning under the arches and refit wing with the car running to check it's all happy. It is. wanted a proper test drive and the mrs wanted something collecting.. Perfect.....
Got down the road to find the alt now touches the chassis leg. Bollocks! But years ago i slotted the mount holes, so i'm gonna move it over tomoz, then it should all be fine. Then to see if i can break the cv by trying too...
While i was out, it would have been rude not to take a pic or two. Even if the car is filthy i took a few quick pics..

Then remember, drive shaft angle...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps3a49b27f.jpg
Better than it was before, no where near as much angle front to back too which is good.
Looks great Benn ;)
Why does your alternator earth strap go inside the car?
what profile tyres do you run? 40s? im hating my 45s now.
What 45 do you have Bruce? Are you thinking about changing them? I'm in need if a set of 45s
Just be sure to give it stick not too far from home if you've gotta push the thing back! That said I'd be surprised if it did throw another inner CV. BTW Ben if you're forever sick of CV gaiter leakage, use long but thin cable ties two wide per boot end; they sit in the groove well & you won't have to use those jubilees.
Any chance of a shot of the drive shaft looking from inside the bay through the chassis leg?
Oh so are you all poly bushed now?
Cheers dude.
Where does it normally go? I can't remember.
As Joff said tho, Cause my battery is in the boot, everything is grounded in the scuttle to the std ground point. Just beefed up.
Power is there too.
That's the plan, Alt pulley is rubbing at the mo. Gonna fix that tonight, then i can the test lap around here thats nice and close if i break anything. But it has tight and long right and left handers.. So it's perfect to test. I'm hoping it will be ok now...
THe gm jublieeclips slip in the gap on the boot nicely.. Sit well and hold on quite tight, haven't lose on since going to jublieeclips..
I'll get a pic tonight of the shaft in the bay, wont be great as it's hard to see. I have polly bushed tie bars and lower arm bushes on lower from RD.. I'll fit as soon as they come thru.
I run 45s, after some one said 40s can give a hard ride. But when i need tyres i might try 40s out.
I love my Toyos, the Yokie A359 and nice too, but no where as good grip.
Every side wall is different, i had loads of wheel over the years, Toyo and Yokie both have flat thin ones. Perfect for low cars.. Like so...

What/where are the door handles and surrounds from in that pic ^^^ they don't look like standard ones (I likey)
Thanks,
It looks like the in-dented part is rounder than the standard nova one.(in pic) I thought you may of cut out the shaped part and welded in that one, so it took the handle. as apposed to a handle that has a surround like a calibra one for example.
Love the new wheels Benn! I must have missed you getting them.
I'm pleased you found what you wanted, as I know you did anything but rush your selection!
Looks superb as always mate.
Looking good there Benn
What tyres you using? Look like A539 but thought they discontinued them yonks ago.
Looking for a tyre change for mine & don't know what to go for.
You heard from Jeffrey about coming over again? PM'd couple of times but not heard from him
I dont know, i wouldn't do it again i know that!
Ah no, all the nova parts where cut out and the plates with the audi bits welded in, you get a big square of metal to work with.
I took a lot of thinking to work out what i wanted. I'd still like polished lips is the prob. Polished lips just set wheels off right...
Cheers too :)
Thank you Sir, very nice to hear from you.
Tyre are indeed A359s, i got them new a few years ago. Where on my polished turbo rims, was low on funds when i got the new rims so had to reuse them. Much to the tyre boys discussed.
I still go on that my Toyos have been my best tyres over the years, fantastic grip, slim side walls too, well priced.
Ive pm'd Jeff too, i know he was going on holiday end of Jan, so maybe he's not bad yet.. Should i get a new gm bonnet too? Hhmm....
What Toyo's Benn were your favourites then?
Need to change my Kumho track tyres for a road 195x45x15 purely for cosmetic reasons.
Love the Kumho's but the 50 profile is spoiling the look so they gotta go!
I still use T1rs on my painted turbo rims. Give lots of grip in the cold and get better the hotter, love them on track. You run 50 profile? Thought you use 45-40 as you run it quite low.
Id like to try 40s at some point, as mine catch my front wings on anything more than 75% lock...
The Kumho V70's i run only come in a 50 profile. 195x50x15
I thought they would be ok, but the more i look the more they do my nut, just too large a profile.
Not like my car gets driven that hard to need a track inspired tyre so i will change them before the summer, just dont know what to go for really.
I got them after reading review on them, everyone side they grip very well.
That and a nice flat sidewall with a really nice roll on to the main surface. Which i need due to lowness and coilover clearance.
my choices were either t1r's or rainsport 2's, i went for the uni's in the end but wish i hadnt. spoke to a toyo rep that sorts out the deals for the tyre bay at my work today, should be getting some 40's at 4 for the price of 2. if i didnt get a good deal id have stuck with the uni's and the god awful sidewall. :(
A ex years ago have uni's. I found they sound very loud on the road too...
Before. You can see it's pissed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psfd44e821.jpg
After, might try and move it a bit more tho..

God don't say you're gonna have issues with that belt coming off now!
Haven't had it come off in years (2005) turns it's self inside on track but seems to work ok..lol
The machined pulley has just enough to hold it in place.
The belt angle looks a bit iffy imo Benn, looks like the alt. needs rotating slightly clock-wise
I think it might be the pic, but i'll check that..
See what you mean, i'll check it.
