Whether the cage is overkill or not who cares. Do it right once I say. He may not be able to fully justify all elements of the cgae for what he has planned now but if the direction of the car changes he's one step ahead. Its like when people do a strip down build on the enginebay to get it all sprayed and do a little welding. IMO, whether you're fitting an XE/LET or not you might aswell fit the plating kit and sticth weld so that if you do go that route later your full bay respray isn't a waste of time!
