Yeah the bottom pulley has been machined down to a single V.
Yeah, its got the lighter flat fly, instead of a pot type
I can tell this engine conversion is going to be a complete success :mad::roll: How does a gearbox get damaged like this?!

it sounds bad me saying this but i would just use plastic padding, its only the bell housing is it not
f16/f20s are cheap enough tho. Be worse if it was an f28!

Rolled my rear arch with plenty of seam sealer to fill the gap, so checked for wheel clearance, just enough in places but I'm sure it's no tighter than before:

C pillar is taking shape, using a bit more filler than I wanted to but it's my first attempt:

Wasn't happy that the arches were sitting there in primer (etch followed by Hammerite anti-rust primer) so gave them a slathering of Hammerite Smooth White. Hopefully a topcoat of stonechip will be enough to protect them:

Also attempted to trial fit my Corsa EPAS column and found... There's frick all room for the lower mount with the standard brake pedal setup. So I'm going for a Corsa servo/mc setup and modified pedal. :thumb:

Leave the arches white dude they'll good better. Great work on this. Very impressed.
Regards the gearbox damage... its only a inspection plate, i dont even run mine most of the time as i forget to put it back on so a slight crack should matter mate..
On another note man ur car looks clean!
I have some white stonechip to go on - Hammerite won't stop stonechips by itself!? It's a slightly yellower shade of white though so it'll probs need more Hammerite over the top.Quote:

This stonechip says it dries but stays flexible, so maybe a covering of that over the Hammerite will be fine, as if the stonechip chips off there'll be the 2 coats of Hammerite to protect it still. Can top up the stonechip in a year or two anyway!
Adam, TBH I can't remmeber how low I run it, the picture looks tighter than it actually is, it's only tight at the back but I can almost get my finger between the wheel and the arch.

Should be sound then. Mine bottoms out that low so ive got to get it back up before Combe (change of springs)
I think I used to run mine a bit higher than that, but the rears would go fairly low.
Made a start on the new pedals, well, as much as you can without the actual brake setup.

You've chopped every bracket off the car to save weight, and then fitted that heavy old power steering unit, which by the way is for poofs:gay: lol
I'd just lengthen what you have, if you can, if you can't, I have a few universal joints and Corsa columns.

MK999, I was going for proper quickrack internals (2.5 lock to lock), so figured power steering would be worthwhile. Having second thoughts now cos it's not a straight fit, could maybe fit it later on if I find it's too heavy.
Oi, gayboy!, it's quite a simple fit really, just need to extend it here and shorten it there.
As its stripped out and not having to be shaped to a dash - just maek your own bracket. You'll love doing that!!
Engine does look likes its sat for quite a while judging by the look of the cams etc. Will all be good with a cleanup and mini rebuild though :)
