I sold that dam steel mount as it's just crap! i used the standard Vaux one on mine..
How/what standard vaux mount did you use on an XE? :confused:Quote:

Ahhh the bouncy rubber *******, not too sure as I've been in his car and I loved the rattle from the competition mounts, so unless he had it fitted once and then sold it, I am also confused lol
edit for mike: I meant/thought he meant the bracket, as it's the only all steel bit and he said "steel mount" in his car there was a definite engine vibration going on from competition mounts at combe last year.
As in the standard cast mount for the engine to chassis, not the actual engine Mount, as i still have solid rubber ones.
Engine to chassis goes through 2 parts, the bracket as mike is calling it (and makes much more sense and solves the whole confusion between the 2) and then the mount, i.e bouncy rubber GM thing, solid ally, TAS etc. I assume you mean the bracket (pressed btw, not cast :p), but then why do conversion mounts (brackets) exist if a standard gm one fits! :confused:Quote:

Some people remove the pressed bit attached to the chassis leg, lower it and weld it back on.
I guess the benefit of using brackets rather than moving the part on the car is you can revert back to a trusty smallblock if you want to :)
Here's the drivers side mount after an evening's tinkering. I filed it upwards so the hole is just below the top hole, then welded a fat washer over it, and filled in the original hole at the back. Job's a goodun, and the engine sits almost perfectly level (if comparing bottom of rocker to the slam panel)
