I tried some 10mm spaces in there, they moved it back some, but they looked sh*te being in there. And 10mm isn't much.
Over the winter i will look at getting a new mount made with move space on the hole as that should do it...

Looking good benny boy! Any room to fit a spacer on the rear wheels to fill the arch a touch more?
Yeah, but i'm changing the wheels for deffo over the winter. I wanted to this year, but couldn't get one ones i really wanted.
Cheers too :)
Looks mint mate, but if it were mine....
Those doorhandles look like theyre gagging to be painted the same colour as the bumpers !
Whats your opinion on that one then ? lol
You think? Where's some one with photo shop when you need them..lol
Aye, hasnt that ever crossed your mind yet ?
No, did them in blue and didn't look back. The handles before i did in grey to brake the colour up... But didn't find i needed to this time... But i do have spare handles in case i changed my mind.. haha
Hmmm, i think we need a photoshop.
If it were mine id be happier with them black, but what about you
See if Southie will do a shop
Black? No no no no, trim should never be black, as they arnt at the start.... Like bumpers.. lol
Well i dont mean exactly BLACK lol.
I mean like the metalic colour of your bumpers, i did mine like that before and flat/polished them and they looked great, i would always point i out to people and they would be like, woow yeah look at the metalic in the doorhandles lol lol
To give you an idea
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...014/rsben5.jpg
I like it :)
lol cheers wwwmmmwwwwwthingie.
I might paint a spare... When i have time...;)
lol no worries mate
Ever thought of pillar vinyl? I always like the look of it on nova's to make the window's flow through from back to front etc..
Dark handles does look cool too..
This is only my opinion but I wouldnt go grey on the handles. They were used as a subtle mod that keeps the handle within the recessed part of the door and being colour coded helps disguise this and aids a smoother complete article. To go grey on them would defeat the object of what Benn was trying to achieve I think. I stand in a similar position on the vinyl also as I dont think it would suit this car.
Nick.
Pillar vinyl ftw, I agree with Scott on that
All personal opinions tho
I don't think the handles in gray would suit it at all imo
You could be right, as some times i look at mine and think, god it looks gash, what am i doing, am i making a iffy 90#s mock rally/track car, or am i making a mess! lol
I never set out to make any actual look with mine, i just thought, i like the idea of this, then this, then this, and just did them, even i don't know if it looks good, i lever that everyone els to judge, i think IMO it look ok...
For some reason i just think the handles look better body colour when the bumpers are also body coloured, and if theyre anthracite, then the handles look better anthracite too.
I wouldnt put a pillar vinyl on though itll look too much then.
When i first painted the car, it was gonna have the vinyl but painted on. So it would all blend thru nicely. But forgot to and never looked back.
In some ways it would look nice, in others i don't think it would...
Nick sees the way i think. I knew where was a reason that the blue looked best.. Its to help it blend in..
I'm with nick too.
The blue is staying as it makes the smoother look. Try a silver handle on them and it makes them stand right out. Which i don't want.
Bit of an update, just small stuff.
These where looking old and a bit tatty...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0164.jpg
But Billing came to the rescue and i got a brand new stalk can side, with the added bonus of these...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0165.jpg
Bit of hiding and fiddling to get the other end in and finished yet tho.
Refitted my track bumper for Combe, a moment of madness mad me do this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0166.jpg
Wish i hadn't. Might get another, want the center holes to be circles to match the cooler holes.
Also have tried to re seal my sump, as the bloody thing is still leaking. Hope this might have done.
What's the extra buttons on the stalk?
Bumper looks fine, maybe a bit of mesh in it? I reckon you should tart it up and paint it so it still looks pretty on track!
Oh sorry, its for cruise. Not meshing it, if i can get another i will, so all the holes match.
So set about remove the knackered cv today..
Said damage.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0356.jpg
Ah see where this is going...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0357.jpg
This became a *******.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0358.jpg
Had to use a crowbar to get it out, as the cv was new the curclip was very strong, so doing that i've damaged the oil seal. Bugger.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0362.jpg
Ordered one from Ebay, and will order two at Vauxhall tomoz. As you can see that one was 2nd hand and so is the other side.
Boot off...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0360.jpg
Ah, i see what's happened...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0359.jpg
Cage gone, bearings gone, grease... All over my frigging engine bay.
Via work i got two more cvs in, one to go on the car the other just to keep as a spare.
Built the shaft back up.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0361.jpg
From there i moved to the gearbox mount issues. Boost pipes off, unto bolts mount to car...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0363.jpg
Doesn't look to far out... This with with a jack holding the box up, the rear mount lose, with a bar in thru the hub to the gear box (will do it correctly with the shaft when i've replaced the seal)
So measure, remove mount, make template for new mount to be made up.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0365.jpg
Extra metal added in to move box back..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0364.jpg
Template made,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0366.jpg
Gonna take this to the guy that does metal fab tomoz, to get him to build me a new mount.
Oh and some flowers i bought the Mrs.. lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0355.jpg
Dub post.
Bad luck on the cv dude, what a mess!
Nice flowers, was you in trouble?
Maybe to make up for the attention he gives his car lol
f28 and cv joints love snapping no matter what you do!! and as for the engine mount, i had the same problem with mine! make sure you take at least 4 cvs when you next go out on tracklol
Hoping remade mount will sort the cv issues out.. But i have a spare for next time.. lol
You had probs with the shaft angels too? Mount to far forward?
Glad your staying with the blue handles, if your needing ever a pshop just pm me Benn ;)
Might need a wheel one.... ;)
Ordered a new oil seal (£22 from gm all in, £11 from ebay... Well i have a spare)
Fitted
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0367.jpg
Part number of the seal.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0380.jpg
Damage to paint work having to leaver the cv joint out...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0368.jpg
Got the shaft back in,Fitted my PAD mount..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0369.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0370.jpg
Worked out when it should fit too..
Got a scissor jack in between the box and the cross member, starting winding it till...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0377.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0372.jpg
Will go a bit more, but happy with that. With a bit of adjustment in the mount i should get it 100% straight... So i can drop the mount off tomoz.
That mount doesn't look that strong, perhaps brace it with some cardboard?
Gonna touch the paint up while you're there then?
you should use these on the holes just to be sure
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41wftKXuYgL.jpg
Should of took tother shaft out, put a bar through the diff and tapped the cv out that way. Depending on if you have a std diff or not.
I remember trying get a smashed cv out Pauls F28 at Combe, with a similar result.
lol it did the job. Touched the paint up.
lol needed it, the bottom hole ripped :(
I know, but my garage isn't big enough to be able to work on both sides.. The drivers side is about 2" from the wall at the mo... I have a Quafe diff too :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Picked the mount up, dropped it off at 11ish, picked it up at 2. After talking to the fab man, about getting a mount made up. He said tbh plating the side that needs extending will be just as strong. Same we adding on the fines. As 70% will will be on the main body of the mount it wouldn't be needed. Knowing he knows what he's doing i left him too it.
The mount.. Had the holes welded up for strength and so it looks better.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0381.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0382.jpg
Nice welding, lots of penetration
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0383.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0384.jpg
Gonna refit tomoz and work out where to drill the new holes.
nice to see your still working hard on the nova benn whilst ive lost all enthusiasm for working on cars.
any other plans over the winter mate? any plans on wheels yet?
Ive lost a bit too dude, but where the weathers been so nice ive seen lots of peeps in there cars they wrap up in winter. Making me just wanna be able to drive mine! I have a few bits i wanna do, wheels are a must.
