Thats what i plan to do to mine. You going to use a corsa wiper motor setup?
I have a manta one sitting next to me, but after seeing how easy simps was with the corsa set up i might go and get one of them.
Ah right, sounds like a good idea. (OH off topic, sorted those clips in the end, just need to clean up my bonnet and put the sound deading on :thumb: )
Cool cool.
good work benn , :thumb:
I really must try n find a battery and test the motor this weekend in that position.

hahaha thought you'd like the pic, thats why its on a click link.
Sitting with the tooth in my hand the old filling in it just felt out.. Nothing like work built to last...
Benn so as Ive not read from the start, why did you decide to take the engine out and smooth more of the bay? an also any gen on the Corsa wiper set up,as Ive got no firewall and need an alternative, was going try the AX set up.
Scott
Egnine got a leak from around the oil pump that i've wanted to sort out for awhile so this was the perfect time.
Around march the bay had a quick blow over because when we fitted this engine we made a bit more cleanace for the alt, which put a small crack in the filler. So it was repaied and painted, but the paint wasnt very good and i wasnt happy with it.
So both of these two make it easiest to remove the engine, repair and paint the engine bay and change a few gaskets on the engine while it was out.
Plus i wanted to smooth more bits off and have less in there.
If you look at the Simps thread hes got the corsa set up fitted but needs to test it, which is what i'm waiting on. Gonna look at the manta set up i have here overthe weekend tho.
After it was first painted, looks nice and shiney.

Ah right! OK mate, last time i saw your car it was hear at Shakespeare race way,and it looked rather smoooth lol
Ta I'll dig out his thread then, cheers.
Scott
lol was it? That was a while back.. Paint in the bay was alot better then.
You should of come say hello too..lol
TBF i don't know how long ago it was, everything is merging into a blur as the years seam to pass so fast lol
I would of,but didn't know what you looked like as you wernt with the car.
Scott
lol 3years ago dude, just looked thru the pic of the day. Shame they dont still hold that show.
And yeah i guess, had to spend an hour cleaning it after we got lost and it was raining.
On the wiper thing, something Shaun mentioned is a golf mk2 setup mite be of use as its of similar setup but not firewall mounted. Never looked at one tho to see.
Might pop up the scrappy tomoz.. Have you tested yours yet?
i have a golf mk2 front wiper motor and linkage.
Can you take a pic and post it up.Quote:

Looking at that would suggest what I've done should work as its pretty similar.
Very, lets see which is cheaper..lol
Surely there's more corsa b/c linkages in scrappies now than mk2 golf ones?
looking cool Benn ;)
Simps last time i was in the scrappy down the road there where 5 mk2 golfs..
Cheers nick.
Got on to day and bit the bit thats been pissing me off.. The bonnet cable. What i thought would be easy wasnt, it just didnt want to pull the cable to open so i had to reroute it but its good cause its looks more tidy and runs better.
So it now runs under here...

Thru to here and up to the slam pannel.

After having to cut the nipple off the cable, drill a bolt to nut and bolt it on as a stopper for the cable, make the sleth(sp?) holder fit i finely got this..

Coming on nicely.
Are you still polishing your gearbox? Or am i tripping out?
Cheers dude, I want too but it much just be to much of as ****. Might just do the turret, end plate and diff cover, then paint the rest of the casing.
I wont bother cleaning the servo up as it will give you a reason to clean it then lol.
;) you know me well..lol
