Another small update.
The shell is now ready for paint, below are some pics of all the panels fitted and the panel gaps left perfect. Ade worked all day saturday on the panels to get them 100% (pics taken before this)
Sorry about pic quality, ade sent them to me via MMS.

Next weekend should see it in primer.

Quite frankly Keith, i think it would be wrong to fit that engine.
Box around it with glass and use it as some livingroom furniture.
That actually makes sence!Quote:

Are you going the same route gearbox wise, or is it full recon and paintup?

I got the gearbox off Dave Dempsey on MIG, Its not long rebuilt IRRC and has a quaiffe ATB.Quote:

Really think you should keep the same colour, NDZ had been around for years & it's probably more well known than you think ;)
Very rare in that colour, only ever seen 2, one at donny 2002 & yours :D
Awesome project !
It was around ?450 IRRCQuote:

There are 3 Novas here in NI the same colour that are nicely modifyed, 2 of which are pretty much replicas of mine. Because NI is a small place, I usually see them around and people mistake them for my old car.Quote:

where is ade based keith? sure he works in my local audi/vw place
Crewe, he used to work there, now works in a diff bodyshop in Crewe.Quote:

not long to go! looking good as ever, full marks to you for restoring this!
Spent today cleaning up my gearbox, also painted up the wishbones again, along with the rear gearbox mount which I had the spacers welded to.
Steam cleaned, then wire brushed the gearbox. Gave it some etch primer then hammerite smooth metal paint. Came out quite well and the paint hopefully shouldnt flake.

No pics of the other bits as they are still drying and quite frankly boring to look at!
Keith
shineeey
looks quite a lump of 'box those F28's.. sat there all clean; each n every curve easy to see
They are quite a lump, very heavy gearbox! Think they are slightly heavier with a Quaiffe ATB which mine has too. I think i remember someone saying they were 15kg more than an F20? Not sure how true that is tho.
Keith
Looking good.
I take it you've already converted the box to 2wd etc, before painting?
Yeah it's all ready to go, I bought the gearbox last year, rebuilt, converted and diffed :)Quote:

Ordered some new bits from Autovaux which arrived at the weekend. The backing plates for the rear disc beam that i got from Opel Classics in germany came without the blanking plate/rubber for the mechanism to slide on.
Took 5 weeks to source them as they are NLS, but managed to get some. Thanks again to Autovaux!

I've also now built the rear flanges back up ready to bolt on to the axel once my plated bolts arrive back.
Keith

Nothing major to report yet on the bodywork, Ade is still working hard on it, might have a nice update on saturday!Quote:
