It revved to about 8,000rpm on the rollers didn't it? Sounded great!
Edit: Duh just noticed the graph.
Good torque on the graph too!
You can really see what the benefits the bodies etc give,
At 5000rpm my pretty much standard 16xe is making almost the same power as yours, then mine trails off just before the limit, where yours rockets to 8k revs  lol
Certainly makes me want some tb's lol
nice
Its featured in Total Vauxhall this month, go get a copy! (or read it in WHsmiths lol )
Got it already chap. After a scan read it looks fab.
Well photographed anyhow.
A project of up and downs, love the car and your humor Oli. Best of luck my man!

Not whilst the blood still runs through my veins

Features good fella, nice one
Brunters feature is cool as well. :D
looks awesome mate, real inspiration with the weight savings
gonna be going down a very similar but maybe not as extreme route with my DC2 soon
Excellent issue, great feature, well done mate! The car's changed so much since I last saw it at the ring in 05!
Keith
Great feature Olly, well done pal! Deserved!!
Phew, just finiished reading from page 1, car is indeed a credit to you:thumb:
Couple of questions though.
What was the weight difference from the std front wings to the f/g ones?
Have you thought about a deeper front spoiler and a rear diffuser?
Nice one Oli,
Just picked up my copy and will read it now :)
Cheers guys! Whilst the car is obviously all about track use and fun, having positive comments like that from guys who know what they're talking about, certainly makes the long hours and money spent seem worth while.
:thumb:
Tom - The weight of the wings wasn't a lot different, as they're designed for Rallycross and have to retain a lot of strength.
I've been planning a proper splitter and diffuser for years now. Me and Dar had the idea about the same time and we all know how long he's had a diffuser for! I want to flat bottom the car too. I'm thinking that as the Uni I'm at is renowned for its aero work I may be able to do it as a project and use their wind tunnels, maybe create some scale models/CAD models, would be cool even if it is a slight waste of time lol
Flat floor AND a diffuser will work well, just need more grunt as you'll be in top gear real quick, do it!
Update?
Bump
From when i last spoke to Ol h e said the Car's been off the road and under cover for months and is sat waiting as he's got other things on at the mo.
Scott
Update - MOT'd yesterday :thumb:
Ol do you have the "air craft" type buckles on your harness? as Chris gsi told me i might find it hard to get it through an mot with them!
Scott
aircraft buckles aren't strictly road legal...Quote:

I've never had any problems throughout ownership of my FIA harnesses with aircraft buckles... how odd...
In fact, never even heard that they're not road legal... police aren't aware in any case lol
Scott you might as well take it for MOT with the aircraft type, worst case is they notice and fail it, which'll give you 10days to find some normal ones and fit them for a free re-test.
What he said/\
The aircraft style ones are not road legal.
Because of them not having an industry standard type buckle iirc
Hey Oli,
I'm just about to order some fibreglass wings, due to me wanting my car lower on the whole, but my front arches won't let me...
Just a couple of questions, I intend on modifying them to accomodate standard indicators.
Will I need to add spacers in order for my 6J x 15 et49 wheels not to look odd? (ie sitting too far in) however, adding too much of a spacer will defeat the object of me getting them in the first place... ie: reduce rubbage
Just wanted your take on it, I presume you run spacers on your front wheels, but what are the sizes of your wheels? (width & offset)
Thanks in advance
Olly
tbh ols best thing to do would be have your steels ones flared out and re-painted
Likewise, I'd imagine dropping the ride height & adding spacers to the wheels will have a negative effect too. Steering will lose its accuracy.
3rded. Olli D can get away with it because his car is slow lol. You have a proper engine in yours, therefore I would flare your steel wings as mentioned. I plan to do mine at some point next winter as well.
lol @ proper engine
I'll look into some serious flairing, as I'd like it to go lower somewhat at the front :)
