These muppets are now threatening to cancel my policy if I dont return a modification form that I havent received for my heavily modified Vectra.
Theyre awaiting to receive my modification form, for my heavily modified Vectra, with its GM towbar as its 'modification' according to them.
Fear not SKY, I will take some picturesque photos of my tow bar, maybe one of the snow as a backdrop to it, maybe one with the sunsetting in the background a close up of the tow ball in the foreground.
Will this please them enough do you think, cause its such a good and rare modification, and definitely not a GM part, and everyone always has to fill out 'modification report form's' for their towbar. Or maybe I could take the car up in person for them to see, do you think this would satisfy them enough?
A towbar is a modification accepted within the insurance circles, and if one is fitted it must be declared the same as any non factory fit item, it is an additional extra fitted to the vehicle after it left the factory, whether its a genuine one or not, thus has the potential to invalidate your insurance if undeclared. Some companies may just take your word for it, others may ask for written confirmation to add to thier records, either way its no biggie in my opinion.
If the form hasnt arrived then just ask for another one, the way the postal system is screwed at the moment alot of stuff has gone walkies/miles behind time (kids letters from 'santa' should of arrived 2 weeks ago so we could sneak them into the post) so upon request of said form a bit of grace should be given from them considering the ongoing snow problems etc. They can always check back in 2 weeks to confirm if it has arrived or not.
Its nothing new and i have personally come across it a few times with other insurance companies :thumb:
I have some halfords replacement headlight bulbs, do you think they will require proof of these?
That is approximately how stupid the towbar request is, like for like replacement.
No vectra left the factory with a towbar, it would of been fitted additionally, by a dealer at request if from new. thus as a modification from the factory spec it must be declared and confirmed on a modification form if requested. i dont understand the like for like comment when it has no bearing on a towbar arguement in the slightest.
Anyway, i hope you get sorted one way or the other, im off to play in the snow with my children and have some fun :d

Compared to what for the 1.2? If that was 3k to begin with then thats not too bad a price increase, I might be interested in further details as mine costs me over double over what a "standard" 1.2 would be (but then consider a 1.2 would only be about £180 for me to insure anyway.... lol).Quote:

Can Sky offer good price's for young convicted drivers ? Im getting stupid quotes at the moment.
Im sure they wont insure drivers under a certain age.
sky were nowhere near any prices i had for my renewal, and didnt include drive any car extension
Got a quote the other day for over 1100 tpft as that's all they could offer me. Got a quote elsewhere for 600 fully comp. Think I will be going elsewhere.
