lol, no, its connected by two telescopic tube fitments just in front of the main hoop.

To those who aren't aware that the Alternator fouls the drivers side chassis leg (do you people still exist? LMAO) there are two ways of solving this problem. You can either attack it with a big hammer, which is probably the most popular option... OR you can cut and box section it which means you dont weaken anything (even adds some strength). After discussions with Dar, I decided the second route was better.
Lee Pursey has done a pukka job with it as you can see....

Don't know if its too late but I'd make the alternator cut out a little longer. I did mine like below and it gives you just a little but more room to reach in and adjust it and to remove the belt easier!
