When is this rat look craze going to die and leave it to the orriginal rat scene to carry on.

I'm not sure if this is 100% correct, but i thought the origins of the "rat look" is based upon american 60's/70's street racing.
The guys who didn't have as much cash, spunked everything on the engine/chassis and left the bodywork all rottern and hanging.
Thus is became cool - All the poorer underground guys (typically the cool ones) running around in tatty racers.
so WTF is this ?
they just ruin the cars like when the rat look came out it wasent that bad but know they just going over board .

I don't care what anyone says. They would all look better with a decent paint job (well, the good cars that people ruin. Not that mk1 Punto etc.) Same as JDM cars covered in vinyl look better without.
