My red 1.2i Sx 1992 (First car)
-
a machine polisher and g3 or some paint restorer from auto glym
-
Thanks! Ill give g3 a go,
If that dont work ill get it machine polished.
-
use the machine polisher with the g3 works a treat but keep the paint surface wet with water old spray bottle does the job once you been right round and got it shiney again, polish it with normal car polish i use auto glym super resin polish.
-
nice looking nova sx you have there mate
i had a black nova sx many years ago,
do you want to sell your headlamp covers?
-
-
IMO i wouldn't go for the flush tailgate look
I did. I regret it. Now it ruins the look of my car
Unless you have a bumper with a proper recess in
it will look poo ass you have to re mount your numberplate light
etc etc. Not saying not to do it, as its your car.
But just think it through before you do!
Car is looking freshhh btw :thumb:
-
Looks nice mate, reminds me a bit of mine when I 1st got it
Keep it plain and simple if you can - Not too OTT
A smooth boot does work if you have the recess'd bumper otherwise, it's a waste of time
-
Oh fair enough, i am haing second thought about flush boot anyway, I am buying a seprate flushed tailgate so i do not ruin my current 1,
I am not going to go over the top i want to stay simple but i want it to look fresh :)
-
Heres my 1.2i K plate which has been restored/rebuilt/modifyed to a budget:

Hopefully give you some inspiration

looks nice mate I own a sx myself, mine being a Td though
I like the standard interior (even though I changed mine). I always wanted to get some astra/belmont 1.8 sxi seats as there the same style but have the gte/ sr style bolsters...
Seem to be like finding hens teeth though so I gave up lol :D
Any way keep up the good work!
-
whoa. thats lovely mate. I am going to have to steal a few ideas ;)
What exhaust is it mate?
-
Hi mate if your going with a flush boot
the rear bumber needs a recess similar to this one (not my car btw)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...1/DSCN0964.jpg
But as you can see Vaughan's car looks fcuking ace with the standard boot and imo keeps the original look!
-
yh im keeping orignal boot! cheers
-
good choice :thumb:
What are your plans with the car?

Oo my old car...
Yeah, I had a proper recess built as I think the one that are merely cut in look a bit gash - I tried to make it look a "bit" OE. However smooth boots these days are gay - that was 2004...

Would this work with a 1.2i?
I feel really stupid asking, but i am still learning about engines ect.
Cheers Mate.
-
Aye it would fella, my Nova's only a 1.2i lol
-
fair enough i've been struggling to find a decent exhaust,
wheres best place to buy?
-
You'll pick them up here cheap/2nd hand (I did) or keep an eye out on eBay as well :thumb:
-
oh ok cheers mate, ill post in the parts section.
-
I have loads of Nova spares - Let me know what your after and I'll see if I have it :)
-
Do you have a grey grab handle for inside the near side.
-
-
yeah on the roof inside if that makes sense.
-
Don't have any spare mate - My red K plate Nova didn't even come with them in the back - Base model FTW :thumb:
-
oh ite mate, just my orignal one is snapped. i still have it in the car but i would love to get hold of a new one .
-
You'll be able to get one at a scrappy surely - A front passenger one would do as well I think...
-
i have been trying everywhere mate i have been through 3 doors now! lol
i bought one the bottom was made out of tape... (Cost me a £5) :D
The one i have now is slighty bent out but in good condition as far as im aware.
