Well I attacked the car again, removing some more parts.

I also found something once the carpet were removed that wasn't to nice
The hook that holds the drivers seat next to the door has decided it don't want to be welded to the car anymore, it is cracked between the spot welds and almost completely broken so that had to be welded up.

Took delivery my new OMP cage

Got bored at work so I removed the black tarry sticky sound deadening panels from the inside of the roof. Took two hours and it was right crap job to do, but looks a million time better now.

I used an old slotted screwdriver that had completly rounded off edges and an old 1" scrapper that was rounded off and had no burrs. A bit of patience, plenty of white spirit, and a spontex sponge with nylon brillo for scrubing. Didn't have to use a heat gun.

Today I attacked the underbody and rear wheel arches where the welding had burnt the underseal etc.
I just cleand it up, filled any little hole and painted it all with stone guard.
Also got rid of the gash cut of metal work on the rear arches inside the car that the rear seats mounted too.
I drilled the spotwelds out and removed this stuff,

Then cleaned up, filled, rubbed down and primed the areas.

Between Christmas and New Year I sorted out the inside. Tidying up rust, primed and painted the cage and floor plan.

I painted the inside the same colour as the car but no lacquer.(I can't be ****d.)

Gave the cage 2 coats of hammerite hammered black for that rustic look.

Chuffed to bits with the finish. Considering its the first time I've done anything like this.

Also redone/tidied/retaped the loom again, just got to get some clips from vauxhall to clip the loom back to the body.

Looking good.

Corsas are definently looking the future for track cars.
Just looking at the insides, they are much better built than a nova. Everything just looks "more solid",Lol.

Mintex M1144 pads and Courtenays 16groove discs.

Gave the car a clean and fitted the new shoes.
Bought for ?300 total minters with almost new tyres on them.

When I got it serviced and MOT'd a few weeks back it gave me a good chance to inspect the underneath and it wasn't looking to healthy.
So seeing that I shut down for work over Easter, I have over the last 4 days been crawling around underneath clean, grinding and treating all rust and then undersealed the whole of the car and the rear wheelarches where welding had burnt of the existing stuff

Next on the list to do is to fit new poly bushes all over, which will be done after Llandow.

Just got to give it a run and see what it goes like now.
So chuffed to bits with it as its the first bit of major mechanical work I've ever done and (touch wood) it all works fine.

Also removed all these crappy rubber bushes

And fitted some brand new Powerflex bushes alround which I bought of Ebay for ?55 for a full set.

still looking smart the new inlet should make a nice difference and the bushes made my car so much better i wish i did them when i built mine

Corsa's looking ace dude!
I loved seeing them pics of your car getting stripped out, as i reminded me of how much fun it was when i did mine! ;)
Power box should improve it lots..

Fitted my new 90mm rear springs today.
Originally it had 40mm rears and with a stripped rear end they made no difference, it sat at the original height. So I figured wth some 90mm ones it will drop it about 50-60mm.

Much better now, and sits about right I think.


Also got rid of the rear wiper and grommeted the hole to save some weight and the rear badge was mankie so popped the actual badge of the plastic back and prepped it and sprayed it satin black.
