Toyota compression test

a mate of mine has a 1998 toyota corolla with a 1.3 engine. the other day it cut out on him and would not start so we towed it to my place. i got it to start eventually by cleaning the plugs but it took a while to start like the engine kept flooding.

i done a compression test when it was hot and throttle open i am getting. 260 psi, 140 psi, 215 psi, 245 psi to me these look very high? i was expecting to be around 160 psi. there seems to be a small bit of white smoke from the exhaust. maybe head gasket. the owner does not remember if it got hot and the engine oil was very low as well :roll: i am getting new plugs tomorrow to see if that helps to start easier.
