But theyre just mobile phone text messaging apps, the OP is referring to old skool type stuff like chatrooms, ICQ, IRC, MIRC, that sort of stuff, like the old pngchat :p

I tell ya,facebook has ruined socialising forever.
Its all about "look at me and my wonderful/**** life"

Sometimes Skype if needed, but other than that its whatsapp or for the odd stubborn mate I use bareback messenger
