Is it running in a car or on a pallet?
i would say unless its a runner, bid them in the bollocks for it....
graeme, neither, he is just weighing up the options, he has 3k to build a car.
He really need to know and tell us what he wants the car to do? fast road, track, quarter mile etc. How reliable? Can he afford for it to break every now and again or is it his only car? Personally I'd speak to Sbs but I don't think three grand is going to cover the car, conversion, buying and rebuilding the engine
Same as any engine?
If its on a pallet, feck all you can do really, just make sure it turns over, ideally hasn't been sat for months/years/decades. If the plan is to keep the turbo, give it a spin, check for play, see if you can see any signs of oil.
If its in a car, the obvious things, road test it if you can, make sure it boosts ok, no smoke etc.
if the sellers name is nathan & there is any signs of small fire on the front of the house, run like the wind
4 pistons and a crank is a good start.
bit of everything, around 270-300bhp, yeah he has access to another sheddy car, hes got his eye on a brocade 1.0 corsa thats got 12 months mot and is £400, and our mate is breaking an xe corsa b so the conversion bits will be cheap.Quote:
