i think you need a bigger amp mate or try to put two batterys.
dose the lights go off when your amp cuts out
no the lights dont go off. when i had this system wired up in my room with the same car battery, the sub kicked out perfectly when it was loud. but now its in the car, as soon as it gets loud all the bass just cuts out. but as i said, when i rev the engine high you can hear it kick back in again. so would a power cap fix this? because a bigger amp would need more power going to it, and if there's not enough power going to this current amp the i dont see how i could improve it?
a power cap would do the job but first make sure you have a good earth, check the gauge of wiring is up to handling the amps you are running. does the protection light come on on the amp when it cuts out? as the amp could be dodgy
power cap will help.bigger wires will help as well. and if the protection light come on then as buzbi sed could be dodgy
ill recheck all the earths, maybe find a better earthing point, and also ill get some thicker power cables. because the power cable i have now is about 5 or 6 mil thick. Anybody know anywhere i can just buy one thicker power cable? but not the whole wiring kit?
go to a maplin its like b&q for electics, do the right type of wire and cheaper than halfrauds. if you don't have a maplin store close you can buy power cable from halfords by the meter, but be prepared to have your pants pulled down over the price
lol yep as long as i can get the damn thing
sounds like your useing 12 gauge atm. i'd go for 8 gauge for an average set up (1 amp, 1 sub) or 4 gauge and a power cap for twin amp and sub etc.. don't forget to get the same size earth aswell!!
what do you mean 12 guage? or 8 guage? is that the type of wiring?
