A few electrical problems!!!

Ok Just had the new rally car running today for the first time and had these problems (Nova 1600 16v):-

1) As soon as the power is put on via a master switch and the ignition switch is off the side lights come on and stay on until either the master switch is turned off or fuse 16 is pulled (hazard switch, central locking-removed, interia lights-removed etc) any suggestions????

2) When the engine is running the only way to kill the engine is to cut the master switch. The switch has been wired so that it comes from the battery to the switch and on the other side the wire goes to the starter where I've picked up the other power points. Any suggestions????
