Right, just want to clear this up....

Whats the crack with Gmax 60mm front springs on standard shocks?

Do bumpstops need modifying or not?

Some say they do I have also heard they fit straight on.

Cheers

60mm springs on standard shocks need all the help they can get as the standard shock isnt designed to sit under this much pressure. Ideally you should fit a pretty big bump stop to prolong the life of the shocks, failing that they'll knacker themselves and you're car'll handle like a drunk on a bike.

Hold on, I've heard you want to be shortening them??

Ideally you want shortened shocks, but shortening the bump stops would kill shocks as there'd be nothing to stop the shocks bouncing and compressing fully.

there is absolutley no point going to all the hassle of fitting -60mm springs to your standard shocks! it's going to nacker the shocks very quickly, it'll be bumpy as hell and will handle crap, plus going to all the hassle of taking the struts apart its not worth it, uprated shocks can be had for very cheap now so just have a look around and get yourself some.
