Have searched for this, all i got was everyone's projects and how they stripped their cars out.

Just wanted to know how sound of music is affected when all carpets etc are removed from the car?

Does it have a seriously detremental effect on the sound (sounds like a bathroom lmfao)

Cheers

You mean sound produced from speakers and subwoofers? In a stripped out car...? :tard:

Mines totally stripped out apart from 2 bucket seats and clocks....with an XE fitted too.

Its noisy as hell!

But to me, its all part of the charm, I got a daily driver aswell so my Nova is my fun car.

I meant does the lack of sound deadening, in the form of carpets etc, have any effect on the sound within the car.

Yes, loads! First time a stone struck my wheel well in the back I nearly had a heart attack. Once you get use to it tho it not tooo bad

Haha stones hitting the underside/wheel well/arches are hilarious, sounds like the chassis is splitting in half.

Yer I was doing an autotest a month or so ago, and one of the tests was on loose gravel, at full lock with the wheels spinning sounded like the thing was falling apart.

Anyway, what Im really on about is is there a difference listening to music when the car is stripped out, like echoing (maybe not) or anything like that, or does music sound very much like a car with an interior?

Ah, I see. The acoustics will be horrible, it's almost not worth it. Kinda like listening to a radio in a bathroom. You need soft absorbent material to take the edge off it really

never fails to amaze me the number of people who strip out a beautiful nova interior to make it lighter and 'rally-style'...............

............. only to go and fill it with MDF, copper and heavy magnets and expect it to sound good?

it will sound hideous! lol lol

Oh i know....

Wasn't after a big install, just something to listen to :P

Was only planning on replacing the standard speakers.

An iPod with decent headphones still sounds good in a stripped out car :D

I'm torn between having the car stripped for autotesting, and having good sound inside.............might have to wait for the good sound :D

Simple fact is, if you still have a stereo youve not stripped it.

One or the other, no half measures.
