new carb?

im thinking of putting some a new carb on my mk 1.2. im not getting anything drastically big just summin off say a 1.4. firstly wots the biggest standard carb on any nova, as i want summin i can get from a scrappy. secondly would i have to change the inlet manifold, and thirdly ive got a K&N filter on my 1.2 carb, would it still fit on a bigger carb. cheers for any advice, jon.

well the next standard carb is one from the 1.3 or 1.4 engines

the twin choke peirburg 2E3

they generally suck, the auto choke sticks and causes all sorts of issues and finding a good one at the scrappy would be like trying to win the lottery

it will probably give u a slight power increase but nothing major unless also accompanied with the 4-2-1 manifold and possibly the rest of the system from an SR

what i would reccomend is buying a weber 32/34 for a 1.3SR and snaggin an inlet manifold from a 1.3SR (or a 1.3 astra) outta the scrappy and bolting that together

then when u can afford it buy a 1.3 or 1.4 SR engine and swap the parts over

generally speaking tuning a 1.2 is a bit pointless but it CAN be done if your willing to percevier (sp?) and u might get some good results :)
