Registering XE

Im just updating my log book. I just wanna know where abouts on the XE lump is the engine number stamped? Also is there any websites where I can check the history of the car it came out of - i.e it wasnt stolen (I dont think it was). I havent got the reg of the car it came out of either lol

its on the block face, where the gearbox mounts to it just by the dipstick, hang on ill find a pic.

I got it now, it has the engine code at the bottom then 14 142 184 - so its 8 digits long? Sorry, I just want to get this right.

Yeah mine was on that face and started C20XE then had around 8 digits iirc, but as rob (novafusion69) has had his returned not done you may find they want an independent inspection before they will re-issue V5!

I have a good garage I plan to take it to. Can I still get tax so I can get the inspection?

I would imagine you can be baughty and tax it as a 1.2 or whatever it was previously as youre only doing so in order to get it checked and registered as a 2.0ltr so i cant see it being too badly wrong but thats purely a guess though!
