Ecowreck Alternators same as XE?

Are these the same? Looks like i'm going to need a new one for my XE, just wondered if I can use a Eco one as they are more readily avail...

No they are multi belts which wont fit in a nova engine bay anyway. However i reckon that they are the same as some later type ones on the xe. So yes an no.

should be able to change the pully over so it will work i would of though...

yes that is true but the ecowrecks use a auto tensior on the belt an thus you dont use the alternator to tension. And unlike the xe iirc they have a different casing so your cant just bolt on a bracket?

change the pully and you will be fine, the Eco alts are MUCH better design and output too

Some mixed opinions then....anyone define which one I need (off what car) if I can use an Eco one?
