Afternoon,
I want to run a direct cold feed to my filter on my Nova XE. My first idea wasa irmscher twin headlight conversion, but then thought about using the indicator.
i'm sure i've seen this before. Can you buy anything?
I was thinking maybe removing the the plastic lense from an indicator and using that then remounting the the indicator!?!
How much to Irmscher Twin Headlights and grill go for these days?

Good luck finding an Irmscher headlamp/grille.
EuroSBD or whatever he's called did a mk2 indicator air scoop. Have a search.

Yup. I have one but being in a different COuntry might make collection a little difficult.....

Remove headlight. Drive it in day only. Job done.
Your best option is to keep the air feed low. Think front bumper and flexi Hose. I've used Heater Hosing and fitted them under the front bumper (the large oval shaped pieced that feer up between the Dash and Windscreen) and then piped them to the filter. The only problem is dirt and stones come up them pretty easily.

How much do Irmscher fronts sell for with light bezels fitted?
Light bezels?
Irmscher panels are Mk1 only - Bigs has one (that I forgot to pick up from him at PVS, D'OH! :tard:) thats have the indentation on the bottom cut off, so will fit a Mk2 bumper, but still needs Mk1 wings.
Quad conversions did front quad lamp pods for the Mk2, but they look naff at the best of times.
Removing the headlamp could work, but then you lose the sidelight which I believe you need even in daylight. Could get some clear side indicators and drill the sidelight into those instead though...

i use a modified headlight with the sidelight moved into the indicater to keep it legal heres a pic

I've fitted an Irmscher Front end now :) just need to find a way of sorting the indicators and i'll the remove the inner lights :)
I think it looks good :) Currently have the indicators wired into the inner fog lamps lol, works well lol
so aslong as you have a sidelight and only drive in the day,then thats legal?
obv not for mot but still a cool idea.(now were are them new headlights i got)
I know I don't really go with doing body mods myself, but surely removing a headlight will get you in serious bother with a pedantic traffic copper & points/fine re-mot etc.
if you are using a faily standard rad, there is usually a cover next to the rad on the rhs where a cold air feed can be routed, but sticking any air pipe out of the front always runs the risk of wrecking the engine if you run thru a decent puddle.
