steering collum

when i turn the steering wheel it squeeks and the plastic and stalks move from side to side a few inchs when steering. also it is nearly impossible to keep the right indicator on. ne1 know wat the problem is?

i had the thread on the top of the coloum sheared away due to some scum breaking in my car ,and vurtualy ripping my steering wheel off.:mad: trying to break the steering lock.:mad: i had one replaced that was just bolted in without the "shear" bolts put back in and my wheel coloum had movement.so maybe if youve just bought the car,it could of had a replacement coloum put in for some reason or another,who knows! but my indicator stalk would not knock itself back of due to somepin inside the cowling that had broke.

My steering boss rubs on the column shroud.
