Music inside - Keith Robinson "June Mix"

Well folks, My first love before car's was always music and messing around on my good old trusty Technic 1210's. However my love for car's took over and I couldnt afford records.

I recently splashed out on some Pioneer CDJ 1000's, and started downloading from site's like beatport etc, and the result below is my first recorded mix from them.

It's not 100% perfect and doesn't follow any strict genre, but if you like various forms of house music (tech, deep, prog) then it should be right down your street.

Before the winter I plan on upgrading my mixer as i'm currently using a numark one thats a bit crap.

5oclock every morning, i work shifts but i get up at that time even when im was out at 6 this morning on the bike for an hour :D

I want an Allen & Heath mixer next, or the DJM 800. My current mixer isnt great. Also want an EFX unit! But mostly I want to get back out playing in the clubs! Its been at least 5 years now!

Ive used a Xone 92 i think it was, amaing piece of kit!!!

What EFX u going for? the 1000 or 500? im seriously considering a red 500 but i can get most of the FX from the RMP-2s.

Cant wait to get my own cdjs!!! been using midi controlers and the like for ages and now i feel like i need to step up my game, been told i may have a job in a local bar on monday and friday nights! gota wait for uni to kick out again and ill be doing it so ill have to get something a bit more stable by then.

So you going to have 4ch? still using the 1210s? should be a wicked set up when done!

I'd go with the pioneer mixer mate. The effects are incredible if you want to use them but if you're looking to play clubs it what most use.

I bought two new MK3's, I dont think you can buy the mk2's anymore?

I probably will get the DJM 800, but it'll be after the Nova's finished.

Loved your mix Keith, didn't know you were into the underground stuff!

I would deffo choose the DJM800 over an Allen & Heath, one of the clubs I've been playing in a lot recently (Time, Bangor) has one of each in the different rooms. I've got a DJM600 and really want to upgrade to the 800 :D

The channel faders (I never use crossfader) onthe Allen & Heath are very thin like a studio mixer which made it feel strange to me, some may like it though. I could be biased because I've always used Pioneer stuff.

Also got an EFX500 that I might sell if anyones interested?! (plan is sell DJM600 and EFX500 and buy DJM800!)

Been into my underground stuff your years Kev, I gave up talking about it as most people on car forums like "club nation 5" and stuff that like (which I absolutely hate)

Been following the likes of Zabiela since I saw him on my 18th birthday in Lush - Portrush back in May 2001 supporting sasha.

I like alot of stuff alot deeper than found in my mix, love my deep and tech house, but I prefer to up things a little sometimes for mix CD's.

I might get the Allen and Heath and use a EFX 1000.

I want to get as technical as the likes of Zabiela and Rik Parkinson eventually, and I feel the pioneer is best for that.
