Main reason is to get the linkage out of the way so you can fit a straight through exhaust with no bends (bar over the beam).

Some one i know has just fitted the cav shifter, after seing it, i really cannot see any need for it other than for people that enjoy chopping their cars up!lol
My car runs a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back, with no more than 2 kinks to get it round the nova shifter! No point being concerned with that when about 3 feet down the system there are more or less 2 90degree bends up and over the beam to deal with!

Yea no worries mate, it'll look better next time anyway. It'll be buffed and everything will be sorted (like the dash etc).
