as seen on my project thread ive just had these new black compbrake coilover bodies delivered as a direct replacement for my old yellow tas ones.. (kinda same company, i think)
Bit different arent they..?

Obviously the old yellow ones fit sound, not tried the new black ones yet..

Fitting those new black ones will give you something like major -17degrees negative camber lol

Definately the wrong ones pal :thumb: :(

Actually, saying that - the holes for the hub carrier sit so far out from the bottom of the shock, I'd say that the bottom of the shock would lean in, as opposed to the top, so would even the negative camber up.

However - as you can tell, these new ones don't have the camber adjustability on like your old ones had, unless you elongated the holes yourself?

i say suck it and see. one advantage i can see tho is your gonna have more wheel clearence as the shock will sit more upright i think

its all correct.. spoke to compbrake.

According to the main man there (forgot his name, but well clued/blagged up, delete as neccessary) its a development from the old (my yellow) version and its bang on - giving sufficient clearance for et49 wheels or any pretty much.
It widens the track a bit apparently, and ill need some setting up :-( after its fitted up, quite obviously straining the track rod ends..
Advised me to buy rose jointed jobbies..
Hmm. I just wanna drive it now.. lol

cant see how it can widden the track as thats contoled by the arms! However i can see the logic in pushing the struts back (with the bigger mounting flanges) as i have had clearance problems on my coilovers running 6" wide , 49mm offset 15s before, I had to set the camber less than i wanted so they cleared.

What I was thinking..... The damper body will just sit further in...

Wont that put stress on the Strut top though?

If you watch the top mounts when the car is turned lock-to-lock you will see how much they & the turrets flex anyway...

yeah cudnt get my head around the wider track thing..
well anyway, already have tas eccentric topmounts - according to the chap there theyre spot on, camber / castor adjustment etc..
We'll give them a go at the weekend, hopefully have the car mobile again.
