Unfortunately, one of the casualtys on my in tank to external pump mod on the frontera ws the fuel sender. I had to muller it to get the unit out of the tank.

I really dont fancy buying a replacement because a)theyre expensive and this car is all about being cheap, and b) its a ballache to drop the tank lol

The tank itself is plastic, and is quite uniformly square, and theres a bit of room in the top to cut a hole and wedge something in. Is there any kind of retrofit fuel senders that could be bodged in to do the job. TBH, just an indication on the last quarter of the tank would be fine just to get a warning of impending fuel runoutidge.

I considered fitting a dipstick lol lol lol

Fit the tank in the boot, and use a clear bit of tube connected to the top and bottom of the tank as a level indicator? lol

Apparently mk3 mondeo diesel ones retail at around £22

just keep a gallon can in the back, when the car stops, you know you have a gallon to put in and get you to the next petrol station.:)

The celica has essentially what is a ballcock (snigger snigger) as a fuel sender, its really simple. Might be worth seeing if there's one in any local scrappies for bodging on.

There is a Frontera sender on ebay at the mo, but its £80!!

How about a sight hole in the side & box of matches?

Should be scrapped Fronteras everywhere!

How deep is the tank?

Maybe try bodging on something like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Defender-90-Fuel-Level-Sender-Unit-STC1139_W0QQitemZ300166424989QQihZ020QQcategoryZ31 348QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZ p1638Q2em118Q2el1247)
