Got this really annoying whirring noise coming from one of my wheels that really noticable at motorway speeds.

Thought it would be a wheel bearing as that what that sort of noise usually is, however I changed it last night and the noise is still there. Could a worn CV joint cause the same noise as I have got a clicking on full lock as well which is knackered CV symptoms?

Cheers

You sure you changed the right bearing. Sometimes its difficult to tell which wheel the hum comes from because most of the noice comes from the chassis vibrating.

I changed the one that had play in when jacking the car up and rocking the wheel.

you could be unlucky and have more than one bearing gone and the cv happened to me a few years ago and ended up getting all four bearings done at same time

yep, i had the same prob for months, i ended up changing the f/n/s bearing, both driveshafts, and the gearbox in my search for it, it was the o/s/f bearing in the end, pain in the 4rse that was.
