my bottom pulley has started wobbling and now occasionally rubs the body. the belt pulley isn't spinning true and after inspection the guy who built the engine has only put three bolts in the pulley.

am i right in assuming that the toothed pulley it sits on is the water pump and may be knackered?

I've got a lightweight underdrive that came with the engine. do i just undo the big e-socket and the small ones then pull it off? i thought i read somewhere they are a bastid to get off.

NO!!!!!!!! Leave the big one alone!! Just unbolt the 6 small ones and remove the pulley!! Chances are the rubber has deteriorated in the bottom pulley. It isn't the water pump its on, its the crank pulley!!!!!!!!!
