View Full Version : pv, coments and thanks
First things first,
A BIG thanks to DAN, LEE for all there efforts sorting out what has to be the biggest turn out of nova's since i have joined.
So big well done from probably every one that went.
Here's my comments on the weekend, kinda of a sandwhich.
AWFULL camping site, SCOURCHING weather, SUN BURNT again.
Thats my sumary to the weekend.
oh and there was some nice cars there too.
lol aye, was nice seeing you again Sean. Last PV was the last i saw you and the usual suspects (Riggy, Rexton, Hendrix, Burgo etc etc)
Massive thanks to all though, i throurougly enjoyed it. Even the podburn :( Yea, the campsite fields themselves were poor surface condition. Made for some erm, intersting driving manovers to say the least!!

to many drunken idiots camping around you, pods always the same.
your car is sooo nice by the way:cool:
we did get a huge site thou.
and we probably had the biggest turn out.
we shouldn't complain too much, was having a conversation with jim and dan about this. all boils down to polotics.

i didnt see one sign or anything mentioning about the 25th anniversary(or am i blind?) think some t-shirts shoud have been made to represent our lil cars.
Only a few words from me for now as i am totally knackered :)
I would like to say a great big thanks to all of you, Twas a slow start to the day and the stand area looked a tad large when empty. Luckily as the cars rolled in it soon filled up with a nice varied selection of the most bog standard right through the range to the hardcore track cars and show cars :D
The turnout and stand was fantastic which made my day, along with the chance to meet a few new people and banter in my normal manner with the oldskool members :thumb:.
wow what a weekend
now altho the camping didnt exactly go to plan with the organisors changing the plans every day and with the fields being ****, we still managed to get about 30 novas together and then there were the people with other cars aswell so not all bad.
the stand on the other hand was simply amazing. ive tried to count how many we had on there from my pics and there was about 100!!! which is crazy. so massive well done to dan and lee, you did yourselfs proud.
ive honestly lost count of how many new and old people i spoke to over the weekend and enjoyed meeting every one of you.
today was quality, all the cars on the stand looked amazin guys:) next year im hopin to become a member and see if i can get my nova on the stand:) but yeah today was mint even though i got serious sun burn lol
I didnt camp but had a good look around the stand and in my honest opinion i thought it was excellent, really well set out and very proffessional.Brilliant job guys done theclub proud.Give ya'sens a pat on the back-on 2nd thoughts that might sting a little lol
Andy.
stand was one of the best there IMO
Sorry I left so early ran the strip a few times then went, would have liked to come back but took me long enough to get to the wheel wash so thought I'd give it a miss.

I spoke to you twice Burgo, I was the guy taking loads of pictures, got bloody hundreds too, only managed to chat with a few Nova owners, think there was another guy from PNG and informed a few other people about the club. Was a brilliant weekend, completely roasted my face and increased my strange love for Novas alot more! :thumb:
didnt see this thread lol, as i said in the other thread, camping was abit crap due to the weather but nothing anyone could do really, thanks to all the people i spoke to ( burgo, baxter, ade, ste porter, the bloke with the xe blue van, the chap with the track miami blue xe on tb's on the trailer) just for being freindly and aprochable? lol and the chap parked next to me in the white gte top weekend am burnt to **** now!! hehe roll on next year!

Well done to Dan and Lee and those others involved behind the scenes. There was a helluva a lot to do and I know they've been busy arranging stuff for months. Cheers :thumb:
Without doubt it was the biggest stand of Novas I've ever been associated with and there really was just about everything for everyone. Loads of really nice cars in excellent condition - I was very impressed and I think everyone did the Nova proud:)
In the end I dont think it mattered too much that we were someway way away - the weather was good and that encouraged people to walk all around the show. At least there was some space to spread out and take it easy which was worth abit considering what a pain it was to get there!
There was plenty of people looking around the stand all day :)
^ Yep, stand did seem to attract a lot of visitors.
Only downsides for me was the general disorganization on Pod's part of the camping, and the queues getting out - which seemed to be caused purely by two lanes of traffic merging into one where there was plenty of room to keep two lanes going pretty much all the way through.
Still, fantastic turnout, good work from Dan, Lee, Burgo etc in organising the camping and stand. I quite liked the stand location tbh, as further down on the hardstanding seemed to be an oven compared to the area we had with its slight breeze keeping things cooler. Also good to chat to everyone I met, and Martin sorry for missing breakfast lol
Great weekend, and my first away with PNG (i've been an on the day person mostly before)
Looking forward to the next one, and big thanks to all who organised.
I broke my vauxhall show virginity this weekend and TBH i was very put off the whole thing on the saturday night/sunday morning, due to a few absolute tards who have a twisted fetish for bouncing their cars off the limiter  :tard:
The sunday day though made up for it
Stand/campsite (although mother nature the whore tried ruining the camping) were sweet - nice one to the guys behind that :thumb:
The show, cars (bar a select few lol ) strip action and people get a thumbs up too :thumb:
To sumerise - i`ll go again :) , but will be giving the camping a miss :(

Yep was an awesome weekend. Good to see you again Sean.
Agree with Walshc about the tards and limiters. There was some lad in a saxo behind where we were camping who had the engine running from 4am until I got up at 8 grrr lol.
agree walsh am taken expandble foam next year.. the mother ****ers wont be doing that for a while!

lol @ Martin
We were going to try and come down to camp but just didn't have time, maybe next year although I really couldn't put up with people revving their engines all night
As said in other pots BIG thanks to all at PNG for all their hardwork putting this together, and for everyone making it the biggest [and best] show of Nova's I've seen yet :thumb:

Wasn't too impressed with the queuing to get in and out, 5 hours or so of queuing with a paddle clutch isn't much fun at all, very disappointed with where the stands were. Took ages to get from there to watch the strip and other stuff. Also would of missed a lot of attention as people who parked in normal parking wouldn't of bothered walking down that far end. PNG stand was pretty impressive, good turnout of cars, well done guys.
Overall i wasn't too impressed with the show, but think that was down to the queue's and location of the stands, and the fact my car was so dusty by the time i got to the JOV stand from the dirt/dust track.

crap locations all round. I couldn't even find the JOV stand. 3 hours queuing with a 4 year old going nuts in the car was uber fun. marshals sent me across the mud on the way in and the car was filthy by the time i finally found the PNG stand.

JOV stand was in the **** end of the field behind Corsa C lot. Not impressed with locations at all! Unless the organisation is better next year i doubt i will be going. Apparently it was down to the ford lot using the fields as rally stages last weekend..

First off, Big thanks to all the guys that put in the effort to sort out the PNG stand! A great line up of cars, well impressed with the quality and turnout of all! Good to speak to and meet a lot of people off the boards! :thumb:
Was gutted after I lost all gears in the nova on my second run up the strip on the saturday...not much chance of picking up a type 9 box on a vauxhall day!
Bit of a messy one on Sat night, and not a lot of sleep, but was all good!
As per usual, the santa pod marshalls were absolutly useless! Were do they find these people!!
All in all though, thorougly enjoyable... I'll be back up there for USC! :thumb:
Massive well done to Dan, Lee and all others with organising the day/weekend. The turnout was excellent and the PNG stand must have been the biggest one there.
It's very unfortunate that the stand didn't get more priority in the re-suffle. I was very dissapointed to see much smaller stands on the tarmac with lots of space. I was gobsmacked that the "sound off" area got so much space with at least half a dozen cars that wern't even vauxhalls! Shame on PV/Total Vauxhall for not taking the 25th anniversary of the Nova more seriously. Yes, TV had a selection of Novas further down, but again they had masses of space, but without Novaload/PNG the Nova wouldn't be where it is today. Personnaly I think a strong worded letter should be sent, but perhaps it'll all be in vain as the show has been and gone.
Having said all that, everyones spirits on the stand seemed to be high and it looked like everyone had a really good time. The quality of cars was excellent and it was good to catch up with a lot of old faces.
I'm gutted my car wasn't part of the stand, but had a thoroughly good time regardless.
Well done again everyone!
P.S. No pod burn here  :p ; I learnt my lesson a few years ago, :( lol.
The quality of cars on the TV 25th stand was very impressive. But how it was set up wasn't.
There was just a line of very nice novas parked on the random tarmac by ther strip. I would of at least expected banners etc etc, seeing as it was supposed to be a nova orientated show.
Oh well, im sure everyone had a good time anyway :)

yep the organisation (by santa pod that is) was utter toss as normal, When we left at 3:30 there were five lines of traffic across the tarmac area all trying to merge into just one line to get out, it was 6pm by the time we got to the main gates! My tent got broken sometime on the sunday too, was really miffed about that!
It was the corsa-b's we were behind andy, which were just behind the png, we did have a word with them about them moving some of their cars back so we could have the left hand end of the area they'd been given, but then another 30-odd of them turned up and we stayed hidden from veiw!

Second! Was a quality weekend, and a great turn out... Great bunch of guys as well! Bring on Billing :)
Ill add my thanks to Dan's for the way ALL of you conducted yourselves the saturday and the sunday. Especially when the first thing most of you saw when arriving on stand was a stressed me or Dan lol
I think we made a few VERY big inroads in prooving that the 'normal' nova owner has changed and were not a bunch of boyracing chavs. Lets hope we can use this as a benchamark for the shows to come, not just a one off ;)
Hope Billing isnt full of ring pieces that rev their car to bollocks is it? Considering camping there but no chance if its like that.It relly does spoil the show. The should be a rule in place to blow up anybodys car who starts up after 10pm,after all other than to act like a complete ar5ehole why would you need to do that? Even as i was leaving at 3pm there was dic kheads doing hanbrakes in the car park.

Was a worthwhile day for me but not sure if I would bother going again due to distance. The whole layout was a bit poor for me. And getting in (and out for that matter) was a joke due to a number of issues. Maybe PVS is too big for the access to santa pod.
The turnout of nova's was excellent, I counted approx 80-85 on the PNG stand - I'm sure someone will have the exact figure. If PNG was given 'preferential treatment regarding stand position' I'd hate to think where we would be without prefferential treatment - In Northampton:confused: .

Good thats how it should be.There is no way i'll ever camp with that sort of ballacks going on theres having a beer and a good banter but thats not on.I brought my baby girl with me and my mrs for the day and even in the day there was nobberism saw drink-driving etc.Had to be quite wary and couldnt relax:mad: Is there a track/strip at Billing ive never been?

That's right martin billing pretty much have someone driving around the site all the time looking for anyone causing trouble and they are allways dealt with swiftly. It's one of the reasons that VBOA member clubs have to provide contact details of people who would be available to sort things out should they recieve any complaints about the goings-on either by members or within a clubs area.
There's a little karting track, but otherwise it's show and shine, and have a nice relaxing time.
That sounds good to me.Wasnt this years PV summat to do with Fast Car aswell? Probably contributed to the sorts that were there.:tard::mad:
Was a good day. Second every thing that people have already said really. We were at end of the grass stands, and people on the tarmac had nowhere near as good and large a stand as ours.
Nice to see all the faces I remember from PV 4 years ago lol - Dan, Stu, Ian & Emma, Jim, CP, Sean, Riggy, Rex, etc, met Lee, Razorjack, uhm ....
Only managed to thank Razorjack for my sponsorship, found out who Lynz was at the end, but you were trying to sort your car out, and didn't know anyone else's faces ! Decent name badges are a must I think, everyone doesn't know if your with PNG or an onlooker at the car etc.
Well done x
We need some organisation on the forum posting lolol, far too many different posts talking about day and pictures everywhere! can't keep up :D
Only managed to thank Razorjack for my sponsorship
It took me a moment for it to click who you were and what sponsorship you were talking about, so apologies if I looked completely confused for a moment lol
the thing is usually the security are going round sorting the cocks out but the fields were that bad i dont think they were checking as they didnt want to risk getting stuck
Was my 1st PV and I have to say I really enjoyed it.
I went with a car I'd had for a week and a jar of peanut butter to clean it with - which amazed everyone!
Camping...yes it was wet and a bit noisey but hats ff to Burgo for scouring the site 1st to get the best spot for us and tbh if you go to a car show youre gonna get the n00bs that make noise. just shove bog roll in yer ears .
I soent most of my time at the strip practicing my panning shots - got some great ones (see thread called Ades Pervy lens pics)...
All in all BIG THANKS to all that organized it - you know who you are and was nice to finally put faces to names - Lee, Staggy, Dar, Burgo (I thought he was a myth!), Ad, Mike, Baxter, Cool Tiger and the rest of you!
Dont think I'll make Billing but will be there most likely for Trax - unless I move house...
thanks mate i did try my best, and loved meeting you. your even more of a legend in my eyes now
