wheel offset limit!

hi there lads,im wondering how much you can very either side of the vauxhall offset, which is around the 49 mark,what is the limits before wheel arch work is required and for them to look right on the car(as ive seen some that look totaly out of place).what im after is them looking right on the car without arch work but if i can stretch abit would like to know.:)

well i got et35 and 195-60-13 tyres and a 80mm drop, with out arch work, but i got a big ghay arch lol

Et 42 is probably your limit with no arch work and a 6J rim with skinny tires.

I was always told that ET49 with 195-45-16 is about the biggest and widest you can go on a 2dr hatch without arch grindery stuff which i reckon is why most peeps run speedline alessios which are exactly as above!

my mate squeezed my old oz supertourismo wrc's on his old nova. they were et38 with 195/50/15 tyres lowered 60-80mm with the arch lips rolled back and it was fine..
