Good lad what are the plans modify or restore?

Just a runabout really, probably just 14" steelies and 16v brakes. Supposed to be quite a solid car so hopefully it should be ok for the MOT.

Other than that might lower it 40mm, I haven't driven a std nova for a while so it might take some getting used to! lol

Kind of excited now, going to pick the car tomorrow morning, got the mot booked up for midday and hopefully drive it home after.

I bet you do! Well just got back from london and we have a FAIL on the MOT.

Surprsied the car made it home tbh, it failed on a blocked washer jet, no fog lamp and a blow from the tailpipe.

Quite a deathtrap by MOT standards, anyway the plan is to get the few minor bits sorted and get it re-tested. Drives well, although I think the carb could be due for a service and maybe check the timing but still managed 100 in top gear.

Apart from that it could just use a damn good clean, for the price (not alot) the arches are very solid as is the engine bay, battery tray etc.

top job mate!

Cheers dude, fog light is sorted, just a bulb, and the washer jets was a combination of sludge and crap in the water bottle and lots of soap that was left in there that had clogged it up.

Got a job interview tomorrow morning then gonna pop to the motor factors on the way back to get the backbox. Job done.

Backbox is sorted, £30 fitted. MOT is booked for midday tomorrow.

Nothing else needs doing really although its got advisaries that the brakes are just within legal requirements.

Also, to fill the whole in the dash I fitted my retro kenwood tape deck.

wish you the best for the test.....

Steve

Yeah should be fine as its only a re-test, as far as I can remember they only test it on what it failed on last time.

Bloody hell steve you are keeping more Nova's alive than i am lol.
I did see this on the bay well done fella.

Steve

Nah iam reduced to just two now lol

Well MOT is all done, needs tax at the end of the month but all good apart from that.

Got an air filter an a rotar arm for it on the way back and its made quite a diffrence to how it runs. As usual the bulletproof 1200 runs spot on and it embarassed a ka earlier. Not bad for an old banger.

I'll upload some pics later but all the usual areas are spot on, minor bit coming through at the bottom of the arches but nothing to worry about.

Possibly selling it now, my dad was going to use it for work but he's got something more modern now.

Minor update, the saloon is now on the road as the 2.0 is off whilst I get a few bits sorted on it. Will get a pic update later but I got given std nova gte suspension off a mate so spent yesterday swapping that over then a nice t-cut and a general tidy up.

Still surprised at how much rust I HAVEN'T found lol

Steve

Some of you might remember this, well it was sold as I got the insurance sorted on my 2.0.
But guess what I found on Ebay? (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320332740260&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:GB:1123) lol
